And I'm not a fan of Torts talking back to Sam. If there is one man you have to respect in the MSG broadcast team, it's Sam. And Sam looked like he got an attitude for asking the questions he HAS to ask.

So true. Sam is a puppet for MSG. He always gets the first question, if not the first two, and it's usually the same thing. Describe the way you played. Torts has no excuse to get pissy with Sam, those are MSG scripted questions. You think he wants to be there interviewing Torts after every game, with pre-written questions? I doubt it.

To be fair, Torts has been very cordial with the media this season(MUCH more so than last). So if he wants to vent for this game a bit; I don't mind....

He has been on his best behavior most of this season when dealing with the media..

I can agree with this. This is really the first time this season he has really showed his displeasure.

Torts got pissy. Essentially lost it at Sam. Said something along the lines of, 'how about I ask the questions for once? Why do you always ask me that? Did they talk to you in the room? What did they say?'

It's either he's on and is unstoppable or is just invisible and awful. Such a streaky player.

Trade him in the offseason.

Honestly, he hasn't even been streaky. He looked like that for like one game this season..

Nash, on the other hand, has been that player...

And I do not like how he gives no analysis of the game. Ever. To say "We stunk." "We sucked when we can't suck." and "I'm disgusted," gives us no insight into the actual game.

I know this is Tortorella and he doesn't give answers to the media, or pick it apart, but sometimes as a fan I expect more then his typical responses.

I've heard "this is the most disappointing loss of the season" way too many times from these beat writers. WAY too many times. I hope to god that Slats has a plan to get at LEAST a 1st round pick because this ****** season and no playoffs and no 1st rounder would be a kick to the solar plexus.

his coaching? when the Rangers are playing like they can? dump, forecheck, cycle, grind.

when they are playing teams who can beat that lame system (like NJ last year)? dump, not get to puck, breakout the other way, goal for the other team.

I know this will get me some hatred, but I can't listen to Sam Rosen any more. When I watch the game, I turn off the sound and I listen to the radio feed. Even with the delay, its so much better..

Half the time Rosen doesn't even call the game anymore. He is just too damn old..

I know that has nothing to do with Torts post interview.

Locking Gabby on the left wing is much more problematic than a professional coach being livid after a terrible loss. I'd be more upset if he weren't livid.

If we're wining this clown is hard to take. But in sports, it's about bein a dick and winning %. You can make a career out of that.

When we play like that and lose, and then we are treated to his complete lack of respect towards anyone and everyone, it's just time to pack your crap and turn in your keys.

Awful effort. Hank looked average. The system is inept. The players look disinterested and the results are unacceptable.

It's not even a fun to team to watch.

To be fair, alot of credit to Enroth. He played his mind out tonight, and really, the game didn't have a ton of offense either way. We outshot them significantly, but couldn't get many scoring chances.

Is it just a coincidence that every backup plays outstanding versus us?

No.

Our offense just sucked. Wristers from 40 feet out into Enroth's chest are not scoring chances at all.

No heart. No sense of Urgency. No Killer Instinct. If they don't have that at this point in the season with where they are in the standings, they won't have it at all this season.

Thats not been true this season. Even in games we have lost, he has been fairly direct with questions asked.

Tonight seems to be more the exception. To be honest, there isn't much positive about the game to comment on..

There isn't a team in the league that doesn't do all 4 of those. some do it more or less.

Dump and chase is built to get the puck deep in their zone, so even if we don't get to it, they have to come though 5 players the other way. Trying to dangle and no look back passes at their blue is how we get a jailbreak the other way.

The battle against New Jersey was lost in our end, not theirs.

The idea is to make them play our game, not adapt to theirs. They were trying to do the same thing, make us play their way.

They played better.

I've been pissy in this PGT all night, gonna try and take a step back here with this post.

This team is beyond fixable, there are so many good pieces in place. It's on Torts right now. 25 games into the season, and the team still looks lost in many games. He continually tries to jam square pegs into round holes. The system that worked for the Rangers last season WILL NOT work this season, it's not the right personnel, and that needs to be realized and addressed by the coaching staff.

Stacked with two-way defensemen, and finally with a ton of skill in the forward corps, we decide to play dump and chase grind it out jam system? W T F! Makes no sense.

Anyone saying that the team can't compete for a top four spot still is right. At this point, Boston has 9 points on the Rangers with a game in hand. If anything, the Rangers need to hope MTL comes back down to Earth, and Boston can take that top spot in the NE. Perhaps the Rangers can challenge the Habs for the fourth spot. But then again, do we really want to end up in fourth with the Habs in fifth? I don't think so.

Time to start aiming for that six spot and get comfy, draw the SE winner in the first round. No doubt both Toronto and Ottawa will be cooling off, they're not as good as their records indicate. 3 points behind both of them with a game in hand on each, easily catchable. Get cozy in sixth.

After 48 games last season the Rangers had lost 12 games in regulation, and five in OT. This season through 25, they're already at 10 and 2. The slow start, and inconsistencies/inabilities to get a streak going is absolutely murdering them, and they need to find a way to get back on track for good.

Get off the ****ing jam train. Sather has put a very viable team together, it's just not the right coach. Torts CAN be the right coach for this team, but he refuses to be.

Get Zuccarello to North America. Send down Miller. Let the skill fly.

That's a solid team, with skill and speed top to bottom.

TL;DR - I'm mad, I have no faith in a top four finish; let's get cozy in the six spot. Torts is jamming square pegs into round holes. Rangers have skill, time to put it to use.
