wahlstrom was original committed to harvard before going to BC...the report/rumors was he didn't have the grades to get in.

Maybe he was one of the students from the College Entrance Scandal.
Maybe he also faked his pre-draft credentials, too. Would explain a lot

Part of me ended up really disappointed we didn't pop back into the top 8-14 for one of the centers. I'm happy to stick with CK for the time being though, I imagine it was a Kings Ransom to get up there or else we would have.

I have full faith in Gorts and Co so no worries in the long run.

Yeah. Teams are way too precious about their picks. Just as well they find and target players from the 2017 or 2018 draft they really like.

You’re making a lot out of some pretty minor stuff here. Players change commitments all the time...especially with the recruiting cycle getting earlier. Think about it, he made that first commit when he was 13 (!) years old. And Harvard, even for hockey players is going to have a healthy SAT bar. Failing to get that done doesn’t mean you are “dumb” or can’t be a good hockey player.

Friendly reminder: Boywondee Kakko has been running on pure adrenaline. Can you imagine the schedule he’s been under for the past few weeks? - particularly the past 96 hours. Take any camp notes of him with a grain of salt. It’s impressive that he’s standing after the past week.

I’m looking forward to seeing all firsthand tomorrow.

As I walked in at around 11:40am, David Quinn was walking out with someone else. Oddly enough, Artemi Panarin posted a video of him in Times Square 4 hours ago on Instagram.

Could be the reason Quinn was leaving before the scrimmage started to go into the city to meet with Panarin?

Not that it's relevant to his career, as he moved to Rögle, but Jakob Ragnarsson's team Almtuna was not relegated to HockeyEttan despite finishing in 3rd place in the relegation group. IK Pantern no longer exists so Almtuna takes their place in Allsvenskan.

and there is decent chance Day has a fuller NHL career than a number of these guys,
his career arc has not been in straight line, since granted Exceptional Player status by CHL,
and he has been in NYR system longer than all of the guys above but Skjei
(well, almost an hour longer than Tarmo)
but he is just 21, with only one pro season so far, with size and physical gifts and skating

Not to mention he was an All Star in the ECHL and had a tremendous boost in play in the 2nd half of the year!!
