It's development camp. It's like, 3 steps below Traverse City Tournament level of play which is like 5 steps below training camp

Of course, but they stand out, especially in person. They will be a force in the league very shortly, and we should all be very excited about that.

I hope so! I think Kakko will be fine even if he's not going to go out and score 40 goals and 80 points his first season. I just want to see Kravtsov translate his skill into points...I think he has all the skill in the world I just have a small worry about his ability to translate that into points at the level we hope he will. Will he be a super skilled guy that somehow hovers around 50-60 points? Or will he be a star and put up 70+? Dunno,.

I remember them wasting no time announcing Robertson when it came to the pick. Like instant.

So this is the money look on D:

Skjei-Trouba
XXX-ADA
--------------
Miller-Lundkvist
Robertson-Fox
Rykov-Keane

This shit is deep.

Kakko did the Kravstov.

Wouldn't watching these guys play a game of horse be worth the price of admission? Actually, I'd rather see that than the current shootout format. Each team picks one player, they rock paper scissor at center ice to see who calls his shot first. First guy who fails to successfully duplicate the move and score loses. No goal your move doesn't count, other guy takes leader role.

This **** is deep.

I know I've been the leader on the "move Skjei" bandwagon, but I really believe he's not long for this organization. Just too much talent behind him that is likely to surpass him.

I mean you’re going to have to be better than good to play on this blue line. I mean you’re going to have to be really good. I think we went a little nuts with the LEfty Dmen honestly. We’re almost too deep there.

It pains to admit, because he's a good kid and all. I think he'll have two years with Trouba tops, then he's dealt.

I think the opposite, the talent will help lift his game even more. Watch this upcoming season how good he is with Trouba (his close personal buddy as well)

The depth on defense is tremendous (like so deep it’s going to be an issue in the very near future) but I still think we’re lacking a #1 guy.

Miller certainly could be, and his current trajectory puts him there, but there are still a ton of question marks.

Trouba is a real good player, but those expecting a McDonagh-like impact from him are going to be disappointed.

Thing with Skjei is basically going to be contract related...he has 5 years left but it takes him to age 30. Rangers could be looking to move him in 3-4 years if younger players are pushing for his spot and showing they're ready. They're unlikely to re-sign him at 30 unless Skjei really takes off as a legit top defenseman

Trouba is better now than McDonagh was ever for us outside of one season imo.

Trouba is a number one he literally does it all.

Miller imo will be a monster he’s got first pair upside easily.

We don’t have a kakko level dman in the system though that’s true. We don’t have a kakko level center either.

Nilsner Urquell?

shopping

Morgan Barron laughs in your general direction.

Zibanejad and his 74 points...should have been what to be a 'Kakko level center' 84? 94? 104?

You know I LOVE Mika and he’s definitely a first line center. But I’m talking a franchise altering level center.

Mika is 25 he’s hit 70 pts once. If at 25 kakko is just hitting his first 70 pt season it will be a pretty significant let down.

Mika hits 80 points with either Kakko or Kravtsov on his wing. It's the 2C position I remain concerned about.

Strome is fine as a placeholder. But, I need that center taken in next year's 1st round. Really pisses me off we couldn't get Zegras or Newhook.

They have time to get this figured out. For all we know, that guy is already on the roster...

OTOH, a really good winger can make up for not having that 2nd center.
