OK. A North American myth then
Fair enough.
What sort of stereotypes would people sling in Europe about Russian players?

Russians have more in common with other European countries when it comes to hockey. We don't really refer to other countries as "soft" or "lazy" in hockey.
Doesn't have to be negative. I know "skilled" is a word that you hear tied to Russian players in the NHL more than you would a player from another nation.
I don't have the experience of living in such a tight-knit conglomerate of countries, so it's difficult for me to grasp that there aren't enduring stereotypes about people who are "different".
A lot of the old stereotypes about Russian hockey players weren't because they were Russian, it was how the older system traditionally trained players and style differences for the time.
With time, and the exchange of ideas and approaches, it really doesn't apply any more.
Technical, great passers and better at math than Americans.
That's literally every other country.
Haha, I was referring to this beauty
I loved the way he looked back at Shesty to c if there was a reaction.
Makes sense because he looked 'out of his league', as hyperbolic as that is, for just a second. I felt like after everything I would have seen out of him that despite Vitali's skill he would have made more of an attempt haha.Goalie wasnt set, that clip cuts in right after the save Shesty just made a second before.
Kravstov is telling him there’s more from where that came from.

He’s more or less set, a little behind the shooter though. If he were a little further out he probably stops it. Doesn’t look like he put 100% into that one, he’s probably taken a dozen shots at that point.
I can't make it to the scrimmage for tomorrow - but I will for Thursday. Hope to have some commentary and video to share.
This past spring, THN produced a 'Top 100 Prospects list' which had Makar at 1, followed by Quinn Hughes, Glass, Necas, Kravtsov (5), Denisenko, Zadina, Kaprizov, Hayton, Dobson, Brannstrom, Boqvist, Bouchard...
(Fox 30, Lias 34, Shesterkin 37, K'Andre 62).
Will Hughes and Kakko slide into 1-2 slots on the next update? Feels like 7 in the top 70.
