Lundkvist's contract with Luleå expires, unlike Jesper Sellgren last year. Which means:

- No transfer fee
- No restrictions on loaning back (Rangers/Lundkvist can pick their team if they go for a loan back to SHL)

It increases the chances of him coming over and he himself expects to start in Hartford
Can Nils play the left side?

Sure, he can. But with him adjusting to a higher level, I don't think it's the best solution. I prefer to see Fox on the left. He has great lateral movement and gap control. Althought I can understand the people prefering DeAngelo on the left due to his history playing that side
I just don’t want to trade Nils. I have a feeling he will be an excellent player.

That may well be, but I do not believe that the near to mid future holds exactly the pieces on the right side that it currently has. Which makes Lundqvist a trade chip. But let's see what unfolds.

Miller’s focus is different than many of his peers. A first-round pick of the Rangers, he has his sights set on Madison Square Garden more than on Madison, Wis.
He’s one of the players who struggles most with the school side of being a student-athlete and hasn’t decided on a major.

Often, while others work on assignments in the academic center, he’s in the gym getting in an extra workout, on the ice by himself, or in the shooting room. He only has one in-person class (and three online courses) so he spends less time on campus than almost anyone. Because he doesn’t have class on Monday, Wednesday or Friday, he’s usually one of the first to the rink. He figures he spends between 30 and 40 hours a week at the rink, not including the full days he’s there on weekends.

“They’re not easy classes so there’s a lot of work behind them. Managing that in the right way with hockey has been fun … I guess,” Miller says with a chuckle. “I struggle to stay motivated. I don’t know. I love hockey. It’s kind of bad to say but I feel like school is always second to hockey. It’s just getting by in school and doing whatever I need to do to make it (to New York).”

Sounds like Miller is banking on a pro hockey career which is good for the Rangers.

”Can Lundkvist play on the left?” Is a very common question these days..

He probably can, but to my knowledge he’s never played a full game at J20 level or higher as an LD. He definitely hasn’t in SHL as he’s Luleås only RHD. Forcing a square peg into a round hole is almost never a good idea.

He’s a pure right handed RD.

Limited call ups for the rest of the year unless it’s for an emergency
They can sign Miller, Barron & Lundkvist if their seasons end early even with 2 AHL callups with the cap space available.

Just got done watching Pajuniemi tonight and while he might translate to Hartford, I don’t see how his size, skating or positioning even gets him a sniff at the NHL.

Not a bum, just a guy.

In open play, he often shifts to the left, but he never starts there. I don't think him playing on the left side is an issue per se, but when a player is moving up to a higher level, I prefer to have them where they are strongest. Keep him on the right side if he makes the NHL. When he is comfortable with the speed and style in the NHL, you can always try, because I feel his gap control and lateral movement are his strongest assets.

College round up:
  • Hughes and Northeastern won 2-1. He didnt have any points.
  • Nanne and Minnesota won 2-1. He didn't have any points.
  • The Ciccolini-less Wolverines won again 3-0.
  • Miller and Wisconsin lost 2-1 and his season is over. He didn't have any points.

CHL Round Up:
  • Skinner and London won 3-1. He didnt have any points.
  • Robertson and Edmonton lost 4-1. He had an assist.
Skinner and Gross faceoff today.

It took him a bit to find scoring consistency but since the New Years Robertson is at exactly PPG pace in 26 games. For a season (60 games in total) the big boy is close to 3 SOG/G!

Nils with another goal. His 9th on the season, 29 points now in 43 games!

Lias with 1+1 giving him 11 in 13 on the season, good for 10th in the league in G/GP avg

We need to keep Nils!
Depth chart in 21-22

Xxx. Trouba
Lindgren. Fox
Ada. Nils.
Ada PP QB.

Miller. Skinner
Robertson
Jones
Rykov
Reuannen
