So assuming that Wisconsin loses the three game playoff to Ohio State its season will be over since there is no chance the team will make the NCAA playoffs. It is, therefore, possible that if K'Andre Miller wants to turn pro it could happen next week. Something to watch out for. Advantage to him would be burning a year off his 3 year first contract window.

They can sign him to an ELC that starts in July and an ATO for the remainder of the Hartford season. No need to burn any years.

They could do this. But, I'm not convinced starting his clock this year makes much sense. He's going to take more time. He's not ready. I'd rather not burn this year if I'm the Rangers.

On whether Miller should sign with the Rangers or not--I don't think it would hurt him at all if he stayed at Wisconsin but I absolutely think he would be alright making the jump to the AHL. Got to remember that Joey Keane from the same draft did and did well and IMO Miller is at least as ready and is a better player overall than Keane.......and Keane didn't make the 2019 WJC team--Miller did and then he made it this year too. All that said Miller would need IMO at least a whole season in Hartford. Keep in mind as well that Gord Murphy---a long time NHL player is an assistant coach with the Wolfpack.

And given how well Knoblach and Murphy are doing—Andersson situation notwithstanding—there’s no guarantee they’ll both be there for too many years longer...

Keane was a 2nd year draft eligible when he was drafted by us in 2018. Same goes for Pajuniemi. That's why he was even able to play in the AHL 1 year after being drafted

That's true but Miller if he makes the jump next season will be about the same age that Keane was this year when he made the jump. Keane did very well but I don't value him over Miller really in any way. Miller is much bigger and stronger and at least as good a skater as Keane is. Miller has things to work on though---I don't think he's jumping right into the NHL. But really I'm for leaving the decision up to Miller what he wants to do. If he decides to stay one more year at Wisconsin I'm fine with that. If I have a concern I don't want him doing a 4th year there. But if he decides to turn pro he'll have a good defense coach to lean on in Hartford so that's fine too.

I think I am 100% on board with the K'Andre going pro side of this debate, I think his game would benefit from the AHL next year. He learns quick and adjusts to different systems. I would like for him to leave college. Even if it takes 2 years in the AHL i think it will still be best.

Henriksson had 3A in his J20 game.

Sjalin was scoreless.

Ragnarsson was out.

Lindbum doesn't play anymore, he may be dead or something.

Reunanen was scoreless, -1, and played less than 16 minutes.

Pajuniemi didn't play, either.

For real though for a minute there it looked like he might overtake Wallin as the starting G for Mora, then he started sucking assholes again and never even got another chance, really. I know some people tried to characterize last year as "decent" or whatever, but the reality is we made a questionable pick that has been a burning garbage dumb for two years now. Woof.

My biggest concern with Henriksson (that is based mostly on watching him at Traverse City) is that he plays a junior style game.

He's fantastic at it, but it isn't going to be a style of play that leads him to professional success. He needs to be playing against men to figure out that he can't hang onto the puck for as long as he does, or try to thread a near-impossible pass when he's out of options.

He has ridiculous vision, and if he's got the hockey sense to back it up then he could develop into a zucc-like threat for us in the future.

But I need to see him have success against men next season before I'm going to get excited about the possibility.

Agree with conclusion (need to prove himself against men) disagree with premise (that his game is fit for junior style).

IMO "junior game" implies either physical domination (not applicable) or taking advantage of higher skills over lesser competition while staying on the perimeter. I don't think it applies either as it looks like Henriksson has a pretty good nose for going into tough areas of the ice.

Hmm, obviously the term is a bit subjective, but I seen a kid, in Henriksson, who dangles a little more than he should, who holds onto pucks way longer than he should, and who tries a few too many low percentage passes.

Those certainly aren't things that you want pro players to do unless they have elite level skill.

Maybe I stepped outside of the normal definition of "junior game," but that is how I intended it.

bold reminds so much of rookie and 2d year Kevin Hayes

Hayes was definitely guilty of both those things, but figured out how to make the puck possession game work for him and how to play good defense on top of it.

I'm not saying that Henriksson isn't going to make it, or that he was a bad pick. But he is going to have to evolve his game more than most propsects would, to fit into the NHL.

And I want to see how he starts making those adjustments against men before I'm comfortable putting expectations on him.

Gotcha, I think most prospects have these bad habits that they'd need to eliminate once they realize there's no time and space and the opposition is too skilled to be able to get away with dangles or being too cute otherwise. This is just as applicable to Kakko, Kravtsov, Chytil (earlier), etc.

Maybe so, and it's possible that I just fixated more on him; but it really looked so much more pronounced in his game.

To his credit, this was my takeaway from Traverse. I never had any strong opinion on him at the WJCs. He's had a whole season of development since then.

His usage and numbers just haven't dispelled that nagging voice in the back of my head. Yet.

One advantage of Miller moving to Hartford right now is that he can get some regular season games in as well as a (hopefully long) playoff run.

I have this weird sense somewhere lurking in the back of my brain that KeAndre turns back into a forward at the pro level eventually.

Didnt see this posted but on Tuesday Skinner and London win 6-2. He didnt have any points.

Also Robertson and Edmonton played last night and lost 6-2. He didn't have any points.

If Lundkvist was a LD he would be penciled I need for next year. Instead he starts in Hartford which isn’t a bad thing either

Lundkvist's contract with Luleå expires, unlike Jesper Sellgren last year. Which means:

- No transfer fee
- No restrictions on loaning back (Rangers/Lundkvist can pick their team if they go for a loan back to SHL)

It increases the chances of him coming over and he himself expects to start in Hartford
