One thing I noticed in this game is that an orange cone wore McDonagh's jersey in the first but he got it back in the last two periods.

Honestly, I have no more excuses for anyone and I have no explanation for things. I think I'm going to stop defending/criticizing and just observe and hope for the best.

If this team has any stones, they will over come.

Shot blocking.

Thats it. We need more shot blocking.

That's what I was talking about a couple weeks ago. Torts' main game plan is block shots and defense-first. In cases where your offense can turn it on at will (or even just turn it on a little), defense-first is a useful plan. Unfortunately, our offense can't turn it on whenever they want. Unless the other team is exhausted or plays with less intensity than the Rangers, they have as much trouble as Team Kazakhstan vs. Team Canada. Shot blocking is a great supplementary tactic, not as a forefront, main strategy as it is currently being used.

at least shrek was injured or else this could be a lot worse...

how the heck did we manage 4 shots in the first 20 ? did they get tired of toying with us ?

we're still pretty good at making average goalies look elite....

this is the most negative ive ever seen the boards. worse than around when renney got canned. i think its because the expectations were high this year and acquiring nash was supposed to make us contenders but in reality its halfway through the season and we're playing garbage hockey.

first time in 4 seasons im not even looking forward to ranger games

3 very poor efforts in a row. Really is an embarrassment. This is what our team is. They have added an all-world star in Rick Nash, and they are worse than last year. We will regret all those home points we squandered this season.

We have no offensive zone strategy. The only thing the Richards line tries to do is score wrap arounds or one-timers in front of the net that never make it to the shooter. The other strategy the Rangers have is to get the puck to the point where a D-man shoots wide or gets blocked. Or in Hamrlik's case, he turns the puck over and leads to Stralman's penalty, which leads to the 2-0 goal. I think based on our strong play in the 2nd period and 3rd period, we could have stolen a point if that sequence never happened.

Disagree. The pieces are in place, and there's some good personnel around here that isn't being used the right way. That falls on the coach. Most of the bottom - 6 is useless and dead weight though, you're right there. This team lacks serious offensive ability. Kreider is sitting around in the AHL, Zuccarello is ready to step into an NHL lineup, neither of them are around.

Somebody find that 3C thread from before the season and bump it. How's Boyle looking there these days?

I'm telling you people, Torts needs to at least put Nash back with Steps and Hagelin. I'd really love to see Nash back at LW, Gabs back at RW, and Stepan in the middle.

Torts is lucky this is a shortened season at this rate. I want him gone more than anything in the world, but he's going nowhere this year, and it's ****ing terrible.

I very much agree with this:

Seth Rothman ‏@RothmanHockey

#Rangers are struggling, I think, b/c Tortorella's system is one in which you must be conditioned. Training camp did not allow that to hapen

Even the "jam" is missing from our game. We just have a bunch of mis-matched parts.

No it's sandpaper your mistaken

I am not sure if this has been addressed previously, but who thought it was a good idea to advertise Clamato on the boards at Winnipeg? At center ice no less. Are Winnipegians more fond of clam juice than we know>?

Another excuse.

Its Torts job then to adjust the system and DO something about it. Other teams ahead of the Rangers aren't using the lockout as an excuse. Why do we have to?

In which team's system is conditioning not important?

I like when people act like NY is the ONLY big bill city with a hockey team. Sure, he loves it here..because we offered him a ~$7mil/season contract. I'd love it in Siberia if they offered me $7mil to play for a team over there. It's unlikely he demands a trade, but I don't think it's completely out of left field for a guy that actually wants to win it all unlike 90% of this team including the coach. Honestly, I could see him jumping to the Devils - close to NY, decent team with a coach that seems to understand hockey a bit better, replacement for Brodeur. His "hatred" and any "rivalry" feelings go out the door once they're the ones signing his checks.

...or even the Islanders if their young core continues to improve. You never know.

But I wouldn't put any money on Lundqvist leaving.

Lmaoooooo...The Rangers are a disaster. I stated earlier, way earlier in the season that the Rangers were gonna disappoint you. That you should not watch this season and come back next season, Are you disappointed yet? If your answer is no. There is more to come. Im not gonna get into what to fix or not fix, since in the end noone cares what i think. Plus im not payed to do it so im not gonna worry. Im just a fan and im disappointed in the game play and the motivation and drive i see from this team,. It will be what it will be. But it aint gonna be this season. See you next time.

The pieces are not in place . Keep the players I mentioned . Plug in
Whoever we can get from contenders by selling of the ones I mentioned preferably some guys with speed, 10-20 goal potential and some nuts .
Richards as 1 C is absolutely killing this team . Stepan is a good solid you g center. Sell of Gaborik , one of Staal or Girardi for a ready to play Center prospect and picks or a Center . It's a hard choice but center depth is what win championships . The Remainjng D men of Whiever left between G and Staal, MDz , and McD , plug in McI

Glad I didn't waste my time with this one either. I probably won't start watching again till Torts is canned. The talent is there. He just doesn't know how to use it.
