Alright, let's try and steer this discussion back to head coaches. If you want to talk about relocation, please use the Around the NHL thread.

@puckrush, Jeff Blashill interests me. Asst coach for DET in 2011-2012, head coach for Grand Rapids this year, who are in the AHL finals IIRC.

That's an interesting one. He and Stevens would be good fall back options.

I still think Vigneault will end up being the guy, though. It doesn't look like they're in a rush to interview anyone else. If we can just add a little more quality depth and speed to the forward corp, Vigneault likes to use his whole bench, which I like.

J. Kidd, with zero coaching experience just became the Brooklyn Nets head coach. Maybe Messier and Leetch are not far behind..

I don't follow the NBA, but is it a fair assumption that the Nets are in a radically different position than the Rangers are?

I don't think the Nets fired their coach after a 2nd round exit, so it shouldn't be a comparable.

But then again, you never know with Sather... :shakehead

Also completely different owners. Don't see how it's relevant.

I'm scared that tomorrow on June 14th the Rangers will name Messier coach and Leetch Assistant Coach.

 Please, anything but that.

Maybe Graves could be named as a coach as well, that way all 3 goalscorers from Game 7 will be represented. Messier would cry a waterfall of tears.

Graves would be a perfect coach. Talented enough to know the skill part of the game but also not so talented that it came too easy to where he never had to think about the game of hockey at a deeper level.

Brian Noonan scored the Cup winning goal, really, is he up for consideration too?

Cripes...

Please hire Vigneault, now. Right now. Before this madness becomes reality.

I don't mind Leetch as a second assistant to help out with the power play, however. As a third coach on the bench...under a lead assistant...under a real head coach, like Vigneault.

with Messier and Leetch being talked about.. why hasnt Jeff Beuekboom been talked about to be one of the coaches.. he has been coaching for a while, last year for the Wolfpack and before that in juniors.....

You all seem to forget that there are rumors of Sather stepping down. I think we see Neil Smith brought back tomorrow as well.

Because he has real working experience, duh! Only guys with no experience here, please.

sad but true :shakehead:sarcasm:

Beuek should be considered as one of the coaches.. he coached for a few years in juniors... he has more expiernece than Graves Leetch Messier combinded... :shakehead but not talked about at all.
