^ Indeed. The "beyond inept" power play is the number one thing that needs to be fixed. The execution, set up, zone establishment (lol)... are all horrible. Brutal, even. And they have the damn horses for it. It's just the way they go about it.

You don't need to break anything down for me, just be consistent in what you type. You seem to be all over the place.

I'm only "all over the place" to someone who refuses to take a few seconds, read, and actually think about what I am writing. This is not that difficult and, at this point, I believe you're purposefully trolling.

All these names, McBain, Blum, Rundblad are available because they have warts.

Even you don't deny Rundblad has offensive skills.
And that's skillset the Rangers need on the PP where he can start right away.

Yet you continue to miss what I have said a number of times, now. I don't see why we would want to acquire a player who is a liability at even strength. You live in fantasy land where you can just pair said crap player with a better player and even everything out. That's not how the game works in the real world.

He is still young at 22, my hope is given the depth of the Rangers D, he gets to develop at his own pace, work on his skating and defensive issues. If it doesn't work out he is still valuable as a #7D or even #8D PP specialist. The Rangers don't have too many of those.

He's almost 23 and will be so a month into the season. How is a 7/8 d-man valuable? You know why we don't have many of them? Because they aren't valuable.

You don't seem to grasp this simple point.

I'm not convinced you have even made a salient point that I should "grasp."

And finally, everytime you get called out, you take refuge in trying to belittle people. It's getting too predictable. Try a new approach, this one is getting old.

"Called out?" Who is calling me out? I'm the one who called you out for thinking we need a liability like Rundblad. You get the attitude from me that you deserve. I treat people with respect who deserve it. Show me some respect and I'll give it back to you. It's not that difficult. The attitude I give is the attitude I get. Been that way as long as I have posted on here.

If you want the last word feel free to have it. I have no interest in continuing a circular discussion with you.

We have a fundamental disagreement of what respect is. I let that be the last word.

Sather spoke today in Boston

He also knew that the Rangers' style of play needed to evolve to contend with other top NHL teams, or in his words, "the game has changed."

"If you look at these playoff games (like the Stanley Cup Finals matchup) you're gonna see tonight, the style that they play, I mean there's not a hell of a lot of dump-ins," Sather said. "I mean, (if) you have to dump the puck in, you have to dump it. But there's a lot of puck control and hanging onto the puck and moving the puck out, and there's not stopping behind the net to gain control. There's a lot of things that are done differently than what we were doing. So you have to look at the style of play. That had a lot to do with (the decision to fire Tortorella), too."

"I think you've got to remember that people have egos, and they have a strong sense of their own worth when they're doing their job or they do a good job," Sather said, giving his perception of why Tortorella may have been shocked. "And you have seven or eight playoff rounds in a couple years. I mean, he was pretty successful. He's a good coach. (But) I think the game has changed."

"Remember that people have egos..." Sather would know because he has quite the ego himself.

It's sad that he doesn't even understand how much that statement has to do with his record the last 20 years.

Then it's even sadder when you realize that HE is just realizing this now about the NHL and coaching.

And even sadder than that ? He was ready to keep Torts until the players woke him the **** up !
