Just realized who started the thread LOL

As a moderator you should not repeat something that I ahve never stated. Leave it to lazy folks who do not search the past threads, and repeat someone else.
If you look at my tenure in this place I was by far more right than wrong.
I do not see any similarity with my Lundqvist statement other than username of the poster. Neither , I am sure, do you, but you seem willing to play along with some.

Your move.

Apparently my memory of what you said is better than YOUR memory of what you said. Your prognostications aren't the best.

Coaches in the NHL, just like in other professional sports leagues, are recycled near-endlessly. Torts won a Cup, and that bought him at least two more head coaching gigs. The fact that he actually had some decent success with the Rangers only helps his case. He'll land on his feet in no time.

In 09-10 season Lundqvist was a bottom 15 goalie. Many goaltenders could have easily surpassed him then. I was wrong about Chad Johnson only.

2009-2010 he was top ten in wins, SV% and GAA.

So you were wrong about our HOF goalie and his career AHLer backup. Minor details though.

You're wrong about Torts as well. He'll get his shot in the very near future.

We'll see. My point was Torts put himself out of cycle by his behevoir, not his coaching.

The **** are you smoking?

35-27-10 with mediocre offensive support as always, 2.38 GAA, and .921 SV%.

5 Goalies had a better SV% than him, and 5 goalies had a better GAA. He was tied for tenth in wins.

Just stop.

 I can't believe this mindless drivel about Lundqvist. Why don't some people know what they're talking about?

A bottom 15 goalie.

5 year deal? He's 49 years old!!!!!111

Coaches salaries are rarely made public, so there are no comparables. I have no idea if its reasonable for not.

In less than 2 months with the Rangers I considered Lunqvist (by his play, not stats) the best goalie I'd ever seen on the Rangers. And I go back to the late 60's.

He's actually 52, so 5 years is a little disconcerting. If he had been on the other side of 50, he would still be in his prime. Would have been okay with 3 and 4 was pushing it!!!

Obligatory :sarcasm:
