Man you guys are rough on Sam. He had a bad night, it happens. He’s closer to the end then the beginning, we all know that and I assure you he does.

The day Sam hangs em up, I’ll shed a tear. The guy’s voice has been in my living room since my earliest memories, and he’s been here for multiple generations of Rangers - have a little respect.

Funny thing is that the CBC play by play guy initially called an Andersen save as well.

I thought Kreider had a really good game. He made a couple of very nice defensive plays and helped drive play all night. That being said, I couldn't vote him above Strome, Georgiev, and Panarin.
Kreider was great. I also was impressed with Chytil. Playing very fast and confident out there. The big guns are playing great but also most of the supporting cast is paying very engaged and smart for the most part. At least on the rush. Obviously, too many defensive lapses.

I honestly don’t know what to make of Ryan Strome.

Maybe he's just the perfect complimentary player to somebody like Panarin, much like Kreider can be to Zibby. Example, Zibby plays the game at a fast pace. He charges and goes. Kreider's speed is an asset because he can easily keep up with Mika.

Panarin slows the game down a lot, maintains possession, and that benefits Strome and his slower foot speed. Can't forget that Strome was a 5th overall pick (one spot in front of Mika!) and he has skill and good offensive instincts. He was young with the Islanders and the Oilers were a tire fire the year he was there. Confidence can go a long way if you have the underlying skills.

He's benefiting with playing with one of the best and hottest players in the game but I will say, too many times I've seen guys get similar opportunities and not run with it so, to me, his performance is not something to outright dismiss.

I repeat. There is no way Buchnevich is on this team next year. Dump that clown now. I wonder if Sam had a few drinks last night before the final call. He royally screwed that one up.

Not mention calling a player "Tyson Matthews"

I have actually been quite impressed with Buch lately. He has so many facets to his game. But he just hadn’t put it together. He seems to constantly be overthinking it. But there’s enough on display that should entice GMs. And frankly I think he will eventually put it together if he stays. But I do see the logic of trading him at pretty high value for a more appropriate player.

I think Buch has been pretty fantastic lately, and he is still so young. Would love to see him kept, but those bridge deals puts you in a bind, damned if they do play well, damned if they don't play well.

Kakko gets two votes - more than Trouba, Lindgren, Buch, Fast, Fox, Skjei. That means the font size of the pool is too small.

Exciting team..Pavel is so frustrating BUT I think he will get it together 1 day soon. Kreider is at Max Value right now and Gorts should open the bidding. I sign ADA asap. Bread is money and will end up being the greatest Ranger in our history. Staal, Smith and Haley should all be replaced with youth. Sam Rosen is like your forgetful Grandpa..we all may be there one day.

What a fantastic game to watch.

But I think DQ/management is starting to really take one big wrong turn here for the first time in terms of our on ice play. After every game, every practice, DQ is crying about the same things. We only score pretty goals. We don't score simple goals. We overthink things. We complicate things. Cry cry cry.

It would be so advantageous for this team right now and also for the future if DQ and co stopped focusing on the negatives and weakness of this team and started to try to take full advantage of its strengths.

Sure, there will be the odd instance of over passing offensively. It is downright idiotic to think that this team's big problem is effectiveness with the puck. Right? Like what is our big problem? Its that we can't handle the top lines of the opponents, that we end up getting run over. That we give up way way to many high danger scoring chances. Anyone who got good track of the metrics for this team can definitely fill in the blanks, I would believe that they speak their clear language.

But facts are that we currently are putting a tremendous amount of attention to something else.

So why is this problematic? Our real struggles could be helped if we played more to our strengths.

One example: Go back and watch the last 10 minutes yesterday. Toronto is dead tired and loses the puck all the time. But I don't know how many times we without being pressured at all just moves up the puck to the redline so that we can put it deep and give Toronto a shot at going right back at us.

Another example is that its hurting the players confidence. They know they are getting a boat load of crap if they can't get a shot off. But in the game today its not easy at all to get shots through. Sure we are erring on the wrong side in many situations, but its far from as big of an issue that these guys are making it out to be. We shouldn't have bad confidence offensively, we are doing so many things well offensively. Why the heck is someone like Buch skating around out there without a lot of confidence? He is playing well with and without the puck. Its our so called developments doing.

John Davidson is the President and Jeff Gorton is the GM. If they had good hockey minds, they would at this point step in anda say 'hey Quinn, we get the what you are trying to correct here, but it has become really counter productive that you are focusing this much on this little area, totally ruining your young players confidence [Kakko and Buch has really been destroyed by DQ's obssession to have a shot first team], you must start to look at the possibilities instead, try to get the most out of what your team does well instead of trying to turn it into something that it is not".

Brady Skjei is the hockey equivalent of a really good looking girl who isn't very smart. At first glance you figure it won't be an issue, but when you deal with him day after day, you realize that this probably isn't going to work out. They need to move on from him before the rest of the league figure this out.

Strome is having this remarkable season, but its only one season. Obviously Panarin has inflated his production as well. Not all because of Panarin but certainly a decent chunk. I think the safe bet it to keep Kreider, who has had multiple consistent seasons and try to mold Chytil into that 2C role, and sell very high on Strome. There is just something about Strome that seems off with this. I dunno.
I think if you can get him in around 4.5 for 4yrs you keep. That may be unrealistic if he winds up in the .75 to 1.0 ppg range for the season. If that's the case so be it. He has chemistry with Panarin and Im ok with him staying. I don't care who makes who better. Together they're both pretty damn good.

This is a weird ass ****ing team.

2 players at a PPG+, Strome not far behind, the most productive D in the league (and we play Staal.)

Yet every game seems to be a ****ing shooting gallery in our end for long stretches. The boys aren't short on creating chances themselves, but you figure that the coaching staff would have made some adjustments by now (no, throwing Staal out there to protect a lead with a minute left is not the type of adjustment I'm talking about.)
I literally yelled out at my TV, "a minute left to protect a lead and you've got Staal out there?" I mean what's protecting a lead without Staal muffing a pass to a man who's not open, falling down behind the net, and being out of the play?

I'll never forget when Kiner on father's day wished all fathers a happy birthday. Wish DVRs existed to play it back.

His broadcast partner Bob Murphy used to host a TV show called Bowling for Dollars. He had two great moments that I remember.

1. An African-American woman with a very brightly colored dress was a participant. Murphy said something like you'll look great on color TV.
2. A guy who was missing one of his hands (Replaced by a metal hook, as was common then). After he rolled the ball, Murphy said "Nice hook".
