You can’t really disagree about this. When I think about the state of this team I think of the movie Major League 2, when they come back the following season and there’s so much hype and they shit the bed. The scene when the skipper has a heart attack: I’m tired of hearing your excuses, that’s all you guys do good! It’s either a Covid thing(Mika), or a MAGA thing(Tony), or a psychological thing(Kreider), or a heart attack! And then Quinn drops. And then Panarin tells John Gianone he’s the only winner on the team and the rest are either losers by birth or choice, and then he gets traded to the Islanders and we’re playing them in the playoffs and Sam says look at Panarin do that leg kick, it makes the women here in Manhattan puke! That’s all I got, happy Saturday night everyone, smile.

Can’t wait until Krav, Nils, Robertson, Schneider, Covid strain from Antarctica, . . . our lottery wins in 21 and 22 get through their growing pains and this rebuild ends when Kakko and Laf are 27/26 years old. Choosing to enjoy the ride
And more gibberish

It's funny to see a spectator call an NHL player soft.

Yeah, we gotta get rid of that Zibanejad guy because he's not performing well enough while recovering from Covid.

Thank God we don't have McDavid. He's soft as pudding.

Guaranteed 100%
Saur hit no retribution
Staal on Staal nothing
Lunqvist Eakins nothing
Etc
Etc
Etc
I agree with the premise that the Rangers are still and haven’t for years been prickly enough. But, to not-pick a bit, the Sauer hit wasn’t so bad. Sauer wasn’t wearing his helmet properly and really it was just two guys colliding. There was some other nonsense around the play with Phaneuf and I think his dad kind of preening smugly for the camera like a couple of budget pro wrestlers. But the play itself was kind of pedestrian.
And Staal was just real bad luck. I don’t think a guy was looking to injure his brother. And if he were, maybe there’s something up beyond the rink.
The hit on Hank, though, was damning. And I agree that the hit on Igor required retribution for sure.

The Rangers have always been soft. Remember the team just standing around while Gaborik got pummeled by Carcillo? Now you have Lauzon punching Kakko in the face and Shesty having to stand up for himself. It’s pitiful. Teams have always felt free to go after our guys. There’s no price to pay, whether it’s physical or on the scoresheet.

Mika can pay a finesse game if he can contribute like the prior 2 seasons. He has had 4 seasons with over 100 hits in his career tho. He seems to have taken that element out of his game now, it was more a thing when he was in Ottawa.

The concussions have changed his game a little bit. He definitely used to throw his weight around a little more, but I think he has adapted his game. Not that he avoids contact altogether, but he doesn’t go looking for hits and is far more aware of what’s coming at him. He keeps his head up a lot more as well.

The COVID recovery thing is still speculation. Until we know for certain. He’s always been Uber talented and also SOFT

The Sauer hit and Staal hit were CLEAN 100% But when one of your players gets injured and helped off you retaliate. Period!

This!

Zibanejad playing rock, paper, scissors didn't hit me right. I think it's lame AF. Nothing amusing.

Premature - Why do I think K'Andre Miller could be the future captain?

Lindgren or Fox as of right now. Maybe Laf in a few years. Miller needs to add some nastiness IMHO. It’s still real early for him but he’s been great.

Love Lindgren but not captain material. Fox? Potentially elite player - doesn't seem like the personality.

I could see Miller as the guy.

It’s going to be Laf in a few years. It’s only 15 or so games and he’s been really good, but I don’t see Miller (who appears to have Kreiders personality) with enough nastiness to be that guy. Maybe that will change. Rangers are too vanilla. Need someone who will demand accountability and rattle guys

Duguay ACTUALLY PLAYED IN THE NHL and knows what it takes to compete. Like him or not, like his opinions or not he knows and you don’t!
The guys you’re saying are going to such dramatic amounts of harm to the young players because of their softness play the NHL now, today. Why is b-list Bon Jovi more of an authority on how to play in the NHL today than current players aside from the fact that you agree with what he’s saying?
