I 100 % agree with the OP
getting rid of ADA is idiotic and only hurts the team.

Messier was the meanest SOB in the league for a long time and constantly provoked fights and arguments in the locker room...ADA does not have the resume of messier but you need guys like ADA
little Georgie got his feelings hurt and lashed out at Tony...so why does ADA get banished, Georgie threw the first punch ...makes no sense. I had high hopes for this team but this rebuild is going into the dumpster...you can't win with a bunch of creampuffs on this team.

Tony was told by mgmt that he was on his last strike. Georgie wasn't even on his first, so I'd assume he has one strike currently. If that makes no sense to you, then you just want to be an apologist. Plain and simple. "This batter was called out on a strike, but that player gets to see more pitches! WHYYYY???" Well, because of the prior two strikes for the first batter. Do you not know how baseball works???

Even in the redemption article, Marc Staal goes to bat for him and sticks up for him...yet also says that Tony had a history of "yelling at teammates, coaches, officials, fans..." Tony yelled at everybody, seemingly all the time. It became too much. There is no mystery or conspiracy here. Let it go.

If you STILL don't understand why DeAngelo needed to be removed from the locker room, not sure of what to tell you.

And for some reason, I still tried. RIP me. =P

are we in kindergarten ?
tony was told he is on his last strike and georgie is on his first strike...are you serious ? that's how you run a hockey team ?

ok , but look at the team now and the PP...not looking too good without ADA out there

I don't know you. You might be, I guess? =P

If a player regularly undermines the coach/other players/officials, all while playing horrible hockey, then yes. That is how you run a hockey team.

The PP wasn't looking good WITH ADA out there. One PPA in 6 games. Zero even strength points, and a -6.

Keep being an apologist, though!

Wasn’t looking any better with him THIS YEAR. Or in the play-in games against the Canes either (he had a boo-boo is the excuse). His last 9 games on the ice for us were: ZERO goals; ONE secondary assist; Grand Total of ONE POINT IN HIS LAST NINE GAMES. Oh, and he was a MINUS 12 in those NINE GAMES.

Regardless of all his nonsense off the ice, he wasn’t anything special when he was on it. The PP QB? Better than now? Come live with us in 2021....we have cookies.

Wait, he was a -6 in the three play in games, too? LOLOLOLOL

after last nights debacle does anyone still think banishing Tony is the right thing to do ?

Tony would of made a huge positive difference in these last 4 games that we have lost, but Im sorry he hurts peoples feelings and makes grown men cry boo hoo

Yes, it's still the right thing to do. We can lose every game to close out the season and it's still the right thing to do. How do you establish an organizational culture if there is no discipline? Tony was warned he did it anyways, bye. It's the same thing with Lias Anderson. You dont act like just cuz in your delusional mind that you are a 2C that you are too good to put in the work on the 4th line, Hartford and then run home to momma and start lying to the first reporter you see.

ok with that mentality this team is doomed

your coaching young kids ...they are not robots..they have emotions..so what...nothing wrong with that...DeAngelo did not conspire with the unabomber...he took an unsportsmanlike penalty in the 3rd period of a 4-0 game...and for that you scratch him for 2 games ???

And you know this how....?
uh because he scored over 50 points last year and was 4th in the entire NHL amongst d-men
that's how
you basically have stripped the team of a 50 point defense man because he took an unsportsmans like penalty in the 3rd period of a 4-0 game

Yeah...I mean all coaches simply let their players do whatever they feel like on the ice and cause friction in locker room. Clearly.

This isnt a one off, how f***ing hard is it to understand? Tony has been here for 3 seasons. Year 1 he was constantly scratched for "off ice issues" then he barks at the coaching staff for disciplining him. To pile on, he resented that decision still 2 weeks later. Even in the puff piece article he realizes he has anger issues. This is a problem that has been boiling for 3 years because a 25 yr old cant act like a professional.

Patrik Laine after just getting traded and his 2nd game with a new team yelled at an assistant coach and got benched. once the details came out no one questioned it. How long of a rope do you think Laine has? Do you think Howden gets chances over the period of 3 years to mouth off to referees, teammates and coaching while ignoring an ultimatum by not only the GM but the President of Hockey Ops? Tony got plenty of chances because of his capability, but eventually the negatives outweight the positives.

Let's say they gave Tony another chance vs cutting ties completely. He mails in another game or had another meltdown, do you think he is going to take another scratching or benching? He painted himself in this corner. Stop feeling bad for this child and move on.
