Just started posting.
49 year old lifelong Rangers fan. VERY ALARMED at the state of our team and the role models of all our young super talented assets.

When management and our clueless coach allow Kreider and Zibanejad to be our leaders WE ARE SCREWED! Kreider may be the least effective and physical player in the entire NHL for the physical gifts and strength he possesses. BUT ITS NY AND HES WELL SPOKEN AND POLITE! Zibanejad is Uber talented but as soft as they come.
Horrible role models for guys like Kakko and Laf to look up to. Then we get rid of ADA because he’s loud and inappropriate!
Management has to decide. Do they want to win or be the NHL classiest team and a laughingstock just like our city!

Ron Duguay last night

”After watching last night game against a bigger more physical well coached team , the Ranger organization needs to really understand moving forward that playing nice hockey with too many soft players is not going to take you deep in the playoffs ! Or in it”

I thought they got the better of the Bruins physically so this is a dumb take.

but guys like buch, Strome,Howden - these guys are not playoff players

Can’t stand any of those three. But Zib and zkreider are the biggest issues. Give me Lindgren all day

didn’t they see this in the playoffs last year . . . and then they won the lottery!!!!

yawn. Tell us something we don't know. They already said this. They drafted Schneider and Cuylle at the spots they did for this very reason. It's not going to be solved overnight. The team you see now will not look the same as the team that is contending in a year or two.
I hope so. But if you have young impressionable guys now that will be your future leaders, having them look up to Kreider and Zibanejad can do irreparable harm IMHO!

I'm not worried about how the team will play next year or the year after. The kids will be fine. We were hamstrung by the cap this year and this summer moves can start being made to begin molding the team into the type of identity they are looking for. It's a process..."the letter" just turned 3. That's far from an eternity for a rebuild. I'm not rooting against the team, but if they end up with one last top 10 pick I won't complain. I'm excited about next season and beyond.

I think management eventually wants to throw the C on Lafreniere and can't do it with long term deals to Kreider and eventually Zib. They are waiting for him to emerge, but in the meantime we have to deal with a team that cannot compete physically with the best teams in the NHL. This team plays offense from outside the circles. Our best players don't go to the middle. If Halak took a cheap shot to the head would the outcome have looked differently? I think so....

I understand the premise of the op intentions, and agree to a certain extent, but there's better tact here keeping in mind that in terms of being a leader in how you conduct yourselves these guys have been model citizens. Thats important as well.

But yes, I do agree that both can do a better job of imposing their physical will on the opposition.

Its just not who they are.

Mika's here maybe another year, but CK is here for a long time and if Laf developes right, that's a boat anchor of a contract on the third line.

If the Rangers are looking to move a winger, it needs to be CK and not Buch.

That was mistake of a commitment there.

Good guy, complimentary player and pretty expensive.

You make some good points but I’m legitimately tired of the good citizen nonsense. THATS THE PROBLEM. We need some rowdy, loud guys to ruffle feathers and shake guys up. Preferably ones that can play too!

Can’t wait until Krav, Nils, Robertson, Schneider, Covid strain from Antarctica, . . . our lottery wins in 21 and 22 get through their growing pains and this rebuild ends when Kakko and Laf are 27/26 years old. Choosing to enjoy the ride
