The east has no cup contders outside of Florida and Tampa, and hasn't in years.
The west has seen 3-5 legit cup contenders every year in that span

Leafs love playing the West. Like a recipe for what ails ya.The Leafs wouldn’t make the playoffs in the West.
Before you spaz, imagine hearing this horse **** in reverse for the past half decade.
Not how it works. This is the same as the Atlantic the last 7 years. All those cup contenders will eliminate each other in the first 2 rounds. First year I can remember the Atlantic doesn't have the clear cup favorite.
Time to get your memory checked
Who are your contenders? Not sure if stupidity or satire.
Interesting. This same discussion was had when Chicago and LA were winning all of the cups. Only flip the conferences. The east has no cup contders outside of Florida and Tampa, and hasn't in years.

Not really the same thing. In LA/CHI's 4 years of exchanging cups, either team could've won.Interesting. This same discussion was had when Chicago and LA were winning all of the cups. Only flip the conferences.

CAR and NYR are frauds. The shitty Islanders gave Tampa their hardest series during the cup wins. And nobody else has made it past the 2nd rd.
Agree, I would say that this the main reason Toronto never makes it out of their own division. That said other than FL i don't see a team that can beat them in the Atlantic. If they go out in the first round again than their issues are in their head or the team culture. They are definitely talented enough for a long run in the POs.Not how it works. But, but, but Nashville won the FA market.San Jose, Chicago, and Nashville are in the west

3 of the top 6. I guess cherry picking an exact moment in time to show a power shift may not have been the right call.It is safe to say that over the last 10 years the eastern conference has been the best conference over all no matter how many SCs have been won. Right now 5 of the top 6 teams in the NHL are from the west. Has the power in the NHL moved from the east to west? Right now, I would say this is the case.
