What makes you think this?

Blind faith, I guess.

In all seriousness, even though we had a chance to win both games, we still BARELY lost, and we haven't even been on home ice yet.

they say a series isn't in danger of being lost until you lose a game on home ice. We have a great opportunity to go back and tie it up, now.

I know these losses sting...a lot. Normally, I'd be irate and irrational right now. Even though that third goal shouldn't have counted, I don't know if I can honestly say that was a game that the refs "took away" from us. The refs didn't cause McDonagh to make a brain dead play on the Gaborik goal, and the refs didn't cause us to give up several goals from the points and on tips.

All of that being said, and despite being down 2-0, I am still surprisingly optimistic. We've come out and proven that we can hang with these guys, if not out perform them. We need to stop beating ourselves, and we need to get back to managing the puck. Have to give LA credit, though. Their board work and forecheck are scary...but the Rangers are good enough to win this series. And they will. This team has proven me wrong too many times for me to turn on them now.

Um, without the 3rd goal there is no OT and there fore no LA Kings win. So yes, they did take it away.

I'm already emotionally spent. No one will remember how close these two games were or how bad the officiating was in game 2, they'll only remember that we "got steamrolled."

Perhaps this pain is my initiation towards being a true Ranger fan. I didn't experience the dark years.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Lundqvist says the goalie interference non call "changed the game"... Says ref told him the puck already had passed him when contact hpnd”

refs don't even huddle and discuss the delay of game. its THE STANLEY CUP FINALS and they do't even ****ing discuss it. that linesman was probably too busy setting a pick to see the play.

The best part (By which I mean worse) is that in all 3 cases, there was a zebra directly looking at those plays.

Have to say I'm not as surprised by crap officiating as some seem to be. It goes on all season long--so why should it end for the playoffs? The two ref system isn't any better really than the one ref system. And the more of them there are the more they get in the way.

Its the SAME *******s throwing the puck up the middle causing turnovers. They need to skate the puck up and they don't cause they're lazy and expect the other team to not pressure

Well defensively they don't get enough support from their centers. Largely because their centers are incapable of skating the puck out of danger.

Hey LA fans, do everyone a favor and crawl back to your holes. Congrats to you for being giftwrapped this game by Dan O'Fatso. Nobody in the city of LA gave two ***** about the Kings before 2012 anyway.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Lundqvist says the goalie interference non call "changed the game"... Says ref told him the puck already had passed him when contact hpndâ€

Wow. **** that ref. How in the world can Dan O'Halloran possibly say that? It was blatantly obvious that that was completely false.

I am at a loss for words.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Lundqvist says the goalie interference non call "changed the game"... Says ref told him the puck already had passed him when contact hpndâ€

And this is why you expand on goal reviews.

We were up 2-0 in both games lol

This series is over imo but I have a little hope

Just cant lose games like that

Pretty much. What was the corsi stats this game? Felt like the Rangers dominated possession.

There's literally nothing you can do when the refs act like that.

1) Gave King(s) a goal
2) Called Zucc on a penalty when literally 2 seconds earlier there was an as blatant if not more blatant call on him
3) missed a call literally 2 seconds prior to the game winning goal.

Just an absolute embarrassment. The fact that these losers are reffing the whole series is even worse. But it doesn't matter, because they're all awful.

1 Ref on the ice to handle face-offs. The rest have views from the seats. That's how it should be. Enough with them blocking pucks and interfering with players. It's every single game and it's ruining the sport.

For all the casual fans they are trying to reach with this massive market SCF matchup, what do you think they're going to see in this? It's a joke.

I agree. It's radical but some sort of change needs to be considered. It's out of hand how many problems that have caused. They set so many picks on our guys tonight combined with screwing up calls. Whether this is the solution or it's somethign else I don't know but alternatives need to be looked at. If we can very very obviously see something on TV there is no reason the officials should not be able to use that same information. For example specifically replay needs to be expanded. There is no reason whatsoever that the delay of game puck over glass isn't reviewable when it's not debateable at all it either hit or it didn't.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Lundqvist says the goalie interference non call "changed the game"... Says ref told him the puck already had passed him when contact hpnd”

He is obviously right. That ref needs to sit out for the rest of the series. He missed not 1 but many obvious penalties.

I get this and I really like your line of thinking, but it's an absolute killer to lose both games that we very well could have won. ESPECIALLY this one. I'm not counting them out just yet but to say I am crushed is the understatement of the year.

Yeah, I know. Really should be 2-0 Rangers, and they really have no one to blame but themselves for losing BOTH games...but you could have said that about us after games 2, 3, and 4 against Pittsburgh.

I just don't think this team will go out with a whimper. They have too much heart. Sounds cliche, but I truly believe that.

I'm not done. I likely never will be. But it's games like tonight that enabled me to (almost) completely disengage my emotion from the outcome. There is so much nonsense and **** that's just plain out of everyone's control that impacts the end result of these games. It's really, really not worth the emotional investment.

Completely agree. I rarely get mad or excited anymore. Theres so many variables that go into a game that there is no control over. Refs, Ice etc etc. Its not worth basin your emotions upon a team that you dont play for. I'll still root them on and enjoy the games, but I just distance myself from the roller coaster nowadays. Too many other more important things in my life to worry about.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Lundqvist says the goalie interference non call "changed the game"... Says ref told him the puck already had passed him when contact hpndâ€

Well then that ref should get his eyes checked. And then be immediately fired afterwards.

Richards I defend you so much... but when you do a fly bye on defense.. ***** you!!!!!! This is a hard working two way team.. even Rick Nash is playing defense.. he better be bought out

I completely agree. It would be one thing if we were being completely outplayed, etc…but the first game went to OT and this game went to double OT. We are still in this. And we've literally proved THIS VERY playoff season that we can come back from a deficit.

what they do in MSG monday will be the real test imo.

Look I know people are pissed, not trying to troll, but the Rangers also caught breaks in OT.

Williams' penalty was definitely embellished by Nash, and Stepan got away with a blatant uncalled high stick on M Richards in 2OT.

C'mon, Swayze. I'll give you the Nash embellishment, but the blatant uncalled high stick is cancelled by the blatant uncalled high stick that hit St. Louis in OT.

So that's one minor annoying judgement call in favor of the Rangers. Against a missed call that gave them a goal (and put them back in the game) that should have been a penalty in the Rangers favor as well as a missed NON judgement call on a delay of game, a miscalled icing that led to a goal, etc., etc.

SO FURIOUS.
