Pens went down 2-0 in 09. Bruins went down 2-0 in 2011. It was never going to be easy.

Just frustrating...game 1 was evenly played. Tonight wasn't. And, while it wasn't the cause for the loss, the officiating was just more salt in the wound. Love the game, hate the league.

I may very well be done with hockey after this. It's becoming a mockery. I just can't have the same love for the game that I have had all my life.

LMAO at anybody crying over the team itself, too.

We're not strong enough up the middle? The D sucks?

You're all ****ing out of it. We outplayed the Kings all game and the referees handed it to them. It really is that simple. Wake up.

Kings credited with 33 giveaways (and that's with the home statisticians) and I don't think the Rangers converted on away of them, except for the one Quick misplayed.

What a bush league. If four refs are this bad, they need eight refs on the ice, but I guess that would mean infinite incompetence.

Wes McCauley, Dan O'Halloran, Derek Amell and Brad Kovachik should be booed for 60 minutes straight at the Garden.

I believe this is the same ref that cost a game in 2012 playoffs against the Senators.

If they DIDN'T call the goalie interference on Pouliot, I would have gotten over this by now.

As optimistic as I've tried to be for this series, after tonight, blowing those leads and now going down 2-0, I think it's over. So sad. Still haven't seen my team win a Cup yet. Beyond heartbreaking.

Brad Richards post game:

“I’m certainly not going to let it ruin my Christmas and I don’t think anyone here is going to let it ruin their break, either."

No he said "I'm not gonna let it ruin my buyout"

This is really incredible two games now we outplay this team which really seems like nothing better than anyone else we played (excluding 3rd period game 1 of course) and then in this game we get

3rd goal - no intereference
4th goal - because the ref ****ed up the icing call because they don't understand hybrid icing
5th goal - because the ref ****ed up the delay of game on a BLACK AND WHITE CALL THAT IS NOT SUBJECTIVE IN THE LEAST

And the Kings haven't led for one second of the series.

The goalie interference miss was terrible, but the icing call, which wasn't icing, because Pouliot played the puck in the offensive zone, and the missed delay of game, look like purposeful "missed calls", done with the intent to aid the Kings. BOTH of those missed calls came at a time in the periods where a break was about to occur.

If the icing isn't called, and it's called offside, there's a media timeout that could slow the Kings momentum.

The delay of game would have given the Rangers a "timeout" before the PP.

**** blaming the refs. They had 1000 chances to win this game and blew them all, starting with the PP.

They choked.

Pretty much.

Poor reffing never changes, champions overcome the ******** and find ways to win. Twice now they let LA back in the game.

They have no one to blame but themselves. ****ing weak.

Once again we basically completely shut down all their top forwards and lose this time due to incompetent officiating. Kopitar and Carter have done absolutely nothing. Gaborik his usual self and was pretty good...not so visible and a sneak attack goal or chance

As you should be. Every single Rangers fan has a right to be up in arms over that. It was a disgrace and the league should be ashamed of itself. If the league had any level of integrity, it would discipline officials who made egregious mistakes like that. The problem is that they won't. He'll be out there either next game or the game after (I forget how they do the rotation in the Cup) and continue to make horrendous calls.

The league has zero accountability with its officials. The officials union must have some insane amount of power, really. Talk about a great gig. Be horrendous at your job and never have fear of discipline. Sort of like a postal worker, I guess.

The sad part is that this inconsistency extends to all aspects of the game, not just the officials. One doesn't have to look past player suspensions to see that.

In short, the league is a joke from the top down. The officials, the suspensions, the wishy-washy interpretation of the rules, everything.

We're not getting crushed in these games. It's a combination of reffing (in this game) and BONE-HEADED plays/turnovers. I honestly think we can still steal a couple at home. I'm crushed. But I refuse to panic unless we lose game 3.

I'm going to say it again: AV got outcoached.

Sutter mixes and mashes his lines to generate things, while AV is stubborn like an ass. When everyone can see Richards is a liability on the PP, why the **** does he still use him?

I may very well be done with hockey after this. It's becoming a mockery. I just can't have the same love for the game that I have had all my life.

After this game, I might just quit watching hockey.

I don't even care about the rest of the series. Far as I'm concerned, the zebras (mainly Dan O'Fatso) gift wrapped a cup to LA. Can't see them coming back down 0-2 in this kind of situation.

Should be a tie series right now.

One thing I'm surprised with is the fact the Rangers are going neck and neck with LA on faceoffs. That looked like a serious advantage for the Kings heading into the series.

Well, if they're going to get the bounces and the calls, it's not going to be fun for the Rangers.

Jesus. That was definitely goalie interference, and that was definitely delay of game.

But I guess **** happens, right? The best teams make the most of it and can overcome. The Kings did, the Rangers did it.

Chalk it up to complete sloppiness in our own end, and an inept power play that needs to lose Richards. He's slowing it down. Make Marty the PPQB on the half-boards, and put an extra defenseman back there. Or Stepan, while keepking MSL the QB, and put Nash out there.

This one ****ing hurts, man.

That third goal is going to give me nightmares for weeks.

Not in trouble until we lose at the Garden.
