People saying not to blame the refs and that we need to bury our chances need to look again, we buried 4 goals.

At this level it's more psychological, when you get momentum swinging the other way on a terrible call, you grip the stick tighter, your force passes and shots a bit and you end up over playing yourself.

That non call definitely changes the psychological level of the team. As a referee your main job is to be consistent, if you can't do your job properly then you shouldn't be a ref at this stage. It certainly affects teams and nhl needs to be accountable for their employees who can't do the job they are paid to do.

***** at the refs all you want, you can't score 4 goals and lose. Defense was abysmal yet again.

With due respect... that game was decided by the refs. That blown call was a momentum changer and a free goal that the Hank had no possible chance to stop. It's a blatant interference call which should have resulted in a Ranger PP. Quick gets hit when he's outside the crease. Penalty. Hank has a guy in the crease all over him. No penalty. Something VERY wrong there. That 'goal' was a momentum changer and a game changer on a game that looked like it absolutely wasn't heading to OT. Seriously, remove that gift 'goal' from the refs and it took LA into double OT to net their 4th goal.

It just shows you the lack of integrity. I'd have a modicum of respect for him if he admitted fault.

How you can look at one play and see a penalty--then look at a more extreme example of it--that leads to a goal because you don't call a penalty. I mean--here's O'Halloran--he has his bosses too. Maybe he's a complete kiss ass--maybe he's not but admitting such a crucial mistake in a Stanley Cup final game?--he might never referee another one of them again. And if he were to admit he made a mistake then his boss has made a mistake too by putting his sorry ass in the game in the first place.

Integrity never had a place in all of this and has never existed IMO when it comes to NHL officiating.

That's one of the reasons I wanted Chicago to beat them. Their fans are a lot more bearable and losing to them wouldn't be as bad.

Yeah, at least Chicago fans have been watching their team for more than two years. I've been staying away from the main boards like the Plague, but the few LA fans who have posted here have been complete trolls, uninterested in any logical thinking or civilized conversation.

Gonna get reamed, but I agree, to an extent.

He needs to SHUT THE DOOR. Like in game 7 against the Pens. It just needs to happen. Yes, these goals against him are tough to stop, but they're all gonna be tough to stop at this point. We're in the Cup Finals, we need him to be our superstar.

I really think he should have been able to cover up on the fourth goal myself.

Sure. i know you're usually not one of the bash Henrik crowd so i'll accept this, but I think you're way off saying he needs to be our superstar when he HAS been in both games.

It also doesn't change the fact he let in 3 goals and his team scored 4 in regulation.

Easy to say from your couch. Were any of those goals not perfectly screened, deflected, or illegal?

LOL we're all commenting from our "couches".

But anyway, I think Hank has been strong enough. I might feel differently if we weren't wiping out and bumbling over ourselves in Dzone/neutral zone. these have led to inexcusable goals...

In the coming days, I will calm down and eventually blame a bunch of other stuff for our downfall, but right now I feel so unbelievably jobbed that it's making me ill.

LA fan base didn't exist until June 2012, who gives a **** about their opinions?

Not all of us are saying how easy it is to play goalie in the NHL, and how he's gotta make the saves or do this or that.

Face it. What this team needs to beat L.A. was J.T. Miller to become Kreider lite during the season and he didn't do it yet. Richards looks like an ancient fossil. Miller better get it done next year. This team has a 4-5 year window with Hank. He's in amazing shape.

At least NBA refs were smart enough to be crooked for a payout. The NHL refs it's just plain incompetence.

I agree that they're not exactly saves he should be expected to make, but we NEED him to unflappable.

let me be clear that I am not blaming him in any way - he is one of our last problems on these games. Just think it would have been nice of he pulled a crazy save out of his ass for this one.

Apparently the NFL gives a ****. The NHL not so much. Which is why hockey is a joke and the casual fan will never watch.

Because the NFL is very much about quality control. Thats why they do anything, including calling out the refs, to ensure fans get a good product. The NHL wonders why it lags so far behind?
