Tomorrow will be such a slog fest. Early afternoon game after turkey. But Pasta will get a hat trick. I'm betting Geo gets the start.

I agree but I’d also like to see the pushback against guys who aren’t twerps like Pageau. I mean, my five year could beat him up.

And she’s a pacifist!
I don't necessarily agree with that, he may be a complete douche to play against, but those are the kind of guys that we usually shrink against. It may be baby steps but it's definitely a change from what we've seen around here for the last several years.

The Jets made me stop watching football and the Mets made me give up baseball. I only have a limited number of hours on this earth.
Not watching the Jets or the NFL... I couldn't care less... I have no desire to watch

Yes and no.....we still have a lot of guys that do not like getting hit to make a play but we have at least a few that will hit and take a hit to make a play now versus last season . That is a start and what is just as important was watching Laf going at Pageau for his cheapshot on Lindgren...that is important . Now we need Miller-Nemeth -Chytil-Gauthier -Kakko doing it as well when needed . They are all big boys...no reason to shy away . We cannot expect Goodrow/Hunt/Reaves /Kreider /Tinordi always be leading the physical play and retribution department .

Miller is coming along(didn’t think he had it in him at the start of the season), hopefully Gauthier for his own sake does too.

Don’t think it will ever be in Kakko’s game he’ll use his body for positioning like Jagr but won’t be a demon on the forecheck.

Not sure about Chytil.

Nemeth - bleh would rather see Jones or Tinordi even.

So how did the Miller-Trouba pair go from a dumpster fire all of preseason to possibly our best defensive pair from game 1 in the regular season? It's like they flipped a switch. Trouba I can see taking it easy in the preseason, but Miller was still a developing guy (and still is).

Their chemistry continues to get better each game, that’s why patience is so important with all players

Miller is playing so much more in control this year. Last year even when he was playing well he'd rely on his reach way too much. This season he still does that sometimes but he doesn't let the guy get around him anywhere near as much. I legit think this is one of the best 2nd pairing's in the NHL and the 1st pairing has a Norris winner. I wish our 3rd pairing was better. Honestly, if we had an average backup we'd be top 5 in goals allowed. I think even the team defense is improving.

I agree 100% on this and with Miller, let’s not forget it’s only been a few years that he was moved to defense.

It’s Miller finally (because he’s so young) getting the confidence to make plays instinctively rather than having to think first. When Trouba recognizes that he plays his game rather than having to keep an eye on Miller.

And last night I saw the first signs of Lundkvist making a couple of plays. Going deep or walking the blue line.

I didnt watch last night. Did the hit by pageau on lindgren take him out the game? Hope he’s alright
