I would give it few games. In the long run, having Kakko next to Zibanejad is better than having him with Panarin. I agree, the timing of the change was curious considering they just got going, but in the long run this is how the lines should be. This game was played so much with special teams that the lines couldn't really get chemistry going yet. Let's see how it looks after few more games, and then revert back if necessary.

kakko’s puck control style is much more needed on the Mika line.

it was interesting when interviewed he sadly re the Panarin line “I just went to the net, they have been playing together for 3 years”

this would be the perfect spot for laf. In the chl he was at his best in close quarters around the net

unfortunately they’ve already said/decided that Laf isn’t comfortable on the right.

Old, slow, no depth, no prospects and all in no matter what. That's what the piles are and all thanks to Lamoriello. He destroyed the devils organization on the way out and has done the same again and I won't be surprised if he trades what scraps and first rounders the piles have left for another aging vet or two to try and make the POs this year.

Rangers starting to find their identity ..............
Yes and no.....we still have a lot of guys that do not like getting hit to make a play but we have at least a few that will hit and take a hit to make a play now versus last season . That is a start and what is just as important was watching Laf going at Pageau for his cheapshot on Lindgren...that is important . Now we need Miller-Nemeth -Chytil-Gauthier -Kakko doing it as well when needed . They are all big boys...no reason to shy away . We cannot expect Goodrow/Hunt/Reaves /Kreider /Tinordi always be leading the physical play and retribution department .

The isles broadcast was laughably terrible last night. Just watched it….they thought laf should be suspended next game for instigating and they never mentioned third man in against hunt….they have the worst broadcast in the NHL
Homerism at its finest! That's why I appreciate our guys. They even take it too far sometimes but I'd rather have that.

I love everything Gallant says. He's such a regular guy and he's basically spot on with everything he says in his pressers.
When Turk had some time between firings he would be home on PEI and hanging out at the rinks watching various Minor hockey games-Junor B games and such . Some of these games would have crowds as low as 100-200 in attendance and he would chat with almost everybody there ...he really is just an everyday person that loves hockey .

Every time they ask Kreider how he does it, he says he plays with good players.

Let me tell you something, big man, you're also very f***ing good at this.

As someone who plays and coaches goal - his tip ins with the stick on opposite side of the body selling it initially like a pass down low is hard for a goalie to pick up. Do you commit because he's known to tip in that scenario, or is he going to dish it back after you commit for someone else to have a wide open cage.

I don't recall anyone in recent memory able to tip shots in like that routinely. He's done it for a while, it's so awesome.

I said it in the GDT and in the Kreider thread.... he's changing the game. His style will be mimic'd in the near future

Someone had posted how Ryan Strome has outproduced Barzal over more than the last 100 games or so which brings up the piles strange and sad story of Strome, Eberle, Barzal and Martin. The piles draft Strome 5th overall, trade him to Edmonton for 22d overall Eberle and then protect uberplug Martin exposing Eberle and losing him for nothing. Now Eberle is on 14 points with the bottom of the league (and the sea) Kraken and Strome as usual is cranking away with 12 points after coming out of COVID protocol. Meanwhile Barzal, by far the piles best scoring threat languishes on 8 points and Martin looks done. Oh, they also protected 34 year old wunderplug Clutterbuck.

I'm bringing this up because piles fans are spamming excuses about last night and this season, but the reality is that LL and Trotz made decisions that have led them to this point. I have zero sympathy for the piles, I have some very limited sympathy for their fans having to suffer continued disgraceful mismanagement.

Not quite as funny as Gomez for Mac, but pretty close.

Not only did Laf fight but Adam Fox almost fought too…. Got to admit was worried there for Foxy. I just keep having flashes of him punching a helmet and hurting his hand. Protect this man he is our everything!
