I think Gallant and Reaves have been making the biggest impact this year. Having that strong father figure presence in the room is so important to the younger guys.
First off, no one is............... second:Martin isn't nearly as tough as he thinks he is.

This isn't exactly the hill I want to die on, defending a player, I frankly don't like but this isn't a great take.......He's been a tough guy in the league for over 10 years, although I know you would beat his a$$ with 1 hand tied behind your back.
I have played with many of the guys ( not a brag I am not a pro) that we hated growing up and if you think you can kick their behind or they're wussies, you are sadly mistaken. I can handle myself and they would clean the ice with me. That said they're all pretty good dudes with maybe the exception of 2-3 (Claude Lemiex, Kasperitius 2 lunatics and not in a good way)
I couldn’t stand Howden but you are so right, and in any A or lower league, he would probably be the best skater. When people say someone isn't tough they mean by NHL player standards. I'm not sure why people get really upset when people say that but when someone says Brett Howden sucks don't have an equally passionate speech that Brett Howden would skate circles around them on the ice.
The idea that every NHL player would beat our asses in a fight is wrong lol, there are many players that a lot of HF members would beat in a fightWhen people say someone isn't tough they mean by NHL player standards. Agreed though
Who knows, I mean who really KNOWS? Under Torts Kreids was immature and already had a Captain, (and Hank) under AV Kreids was immature and inconsistent (and Hank) Under Quinn, who knows? Maybe Quinn didnt speak highly of him, maybe Hank being gone opened the doors for him to speak more as the elder statesman. Under Gallant he seems different, motivated and KNOWS who he is and what he brings ON and OFF the ice. I don't KNOW, do YOU, does ANYBODY?If he was captain material to this organization, wouldn't they have done that by now? They waiting to give him the C and retire his jersey on the same day or what?
I do that some times. Its fun, haha. I am quite the dreamer. Nothing but a dreamer. You're playing without the cap on
This team (as it is) is doing some really nice things (winning, 1st and foremost) but to not even be close to firing on all cylinders? Wow, makes one excited. Wouldnt wanna be Drury "if indeed" we're looking to add that 2RW. Who gets the can?I said it too. My iteration had Goodrow, Reaves, and I think, Blais on the fourth line. But it wasn’t a fourth line because those players are bad. It was a Crash line for Gallant to use as a legit weapon. I had the young guys, Chytil and Kravtsov on the third line with Kreider as a match-up scoring line. And I had Gauthier on the top six. Rooney and Hunt were my spares. Obviously I understood Rooney. What a find. He didn’t show half last year of what he has shown this year.
It was priceless seeing Reaves stare down MM with a minute to go in the game by the face-off circleMartin, Clutterbuck and Ciezicas seem wary of the new look Rangers. March 4th seems a long way away but I've got it circled on my calendar. These guys were a no show. Good riddance.
