Confirmed with Link: Rangers Hire Peter Laviolette as Head Coach, Assistants Michael Peca & Dan Muse

It was fun though for all of us (including myself) to be agonizing over the menu for weeks just to order a glass of water.
Especially hilarious considering the menu apparently had only two items on it...water (Laviolette) and diet water (Hynes).

BREAKING:

Mika Zibanejad has accepted an offer to be the full-time DJ at Club Berns in Stockholm Sweden. Per a press release, Mr Zibanejad will be behind the decks five nights a week starting October 1, 2023.

When asked if today’s announcement of Peter Lav-O-let as the newest NY Rangers Head Coach influenced his decision, Zibanejad hugged Chris Kreider, then immediately ran out of the room.

Least surprising news since Gallant getting canned. It's a meh hire which excites me about as much as a Dominos Pizza, but it could always be worse.

No matter who was going to be the next coach, he would have to deal with a roster with severe flaws and any success being contingent on the (no longer) kids breaking out.

Peter Laviolette's career won't be complete until he get fired by the Rangers and the Devils...

Respectfully no
this tea has little enuf chemistry as it is and you want to break up the only fully functional line we have [as to all 3 Fs being cohesive}?
Sorry no

They stand out because the other lines are comically bad. Kreider Zibs Kakko was the best line we've had for some time.

I know you’re talking about something else, but I see some interesting parallels between nashvilles roster and ours.

Where?

I don't really see any. They were faster and built to play more aggressive up front and their top 4 was Josi-Subban (pre back injury useless version) Ekholm-Ellis.

Fox is the only D we currently have that would have broken into their top 4. Their top 2 pairs were tremendous.

Igor is way better than Rinne was who goes under the radar in terms of being an awful playoff performer.

Id say miller if he can get going a little, I’d comparable to that years version of eklholm.
Remember that was 6 years ago, not the ekholm we have now, and he got better since then.
I think we’re very strong in our top 4, and Schneider needs to get a little stronger and make some better first passes but then he’d be a great top 4d.
I really see a lot of similarities in the back end. Strong defenseman, just need a system to really utilize them as opposed to forwards sitting on the boards waiting for passes.

Exactly. Though I'm not from NY, so in a sense the assertion was correct. (And Dominos being low quality is as well established fact globally.)

I'd rather eat Dominos than pizza in Ohio or most of Europe, frankly. It's not good but it is at least consistent. And I say this as someone who lives in a pizza Mecca basically.

tbh I thought Washington was a scary team his first 2 seasons.

Injuries played a role. No goaltending as well.

Hope for the best. I stand by my prophecy in that we win a Cup before Igor needs a new contract.

Lavy is to coaching hires as Vincent Trocheck to UFAs.

I see the logic behind it. It could be an underrated move. But it's even more likely to be a mixed bag at the expense of some sexier option that'll come around in the next 6 months to a year and we'll be annoyed we're stuck with him on some level.

But who knows.

I like it better than the Kane and Buchnevich trades.
