Drury's plans always revolve around someone getting fired. Two years ago, Chris was waiting for Sullivan to get fired in Pittsburgh or Cassidy to get fired in Boston or Brind'Amour not signing a contract extension in Carolina.

Drury should look into Dan Blysma. His AHL team reached he Calder Cup finals last night. Coachella Valley. He is not an old guy. He has won a Cup. Jack Adams. He didn't have Crosby in the lineup very much when he was coaching there. His Buffalo teams were young teams and they weren’t terrible.

It's a step down but that kind of internal eval, knowing what they knew turns your stomach a bit in its own way.

Clearly they were wrong. I don't think anyone doubts that. I also don't know what it was like to be in those rooms. I pray I would do the right thing. I think we all do. It's easy to judge never having been in that position. Just hope the rest of the league and us all can learn from this. Should never, ever happen again.

There was no announcement. It was a reporter asking a question, which was spurred on by all the chatter around Roy. The front office has been tight-lipped about all candidates from the start and all news has come from reporters with inside sources.

You have to do a bit of reading between the lines at the end of the Ramsay thread, but it sounds like Roy was never being considered. Drury may have told Ramsay that he was considering Roy as misinformation to see if he was leaking to the press. After Weekes connected Roy and the Rangers on Twitter, Ramsay was caught and let go. That's a bit of speculation, but that's what I get from BBKers's involvement in that thread.

Bowman and Quenneville are both currently ineligible to work in the NHL in the wake of the Kyle Beach scandal.
