Also think theres something to be said about Roy being a Vezina winning (and may be the best of all time) goaltender, whos won Cups.

He knows the type of support a goalie needs, Igor is in his prime. He will build the system around him, which is what they should be doing. A good coach will find a way to maximize not only his ability to stop the puck, but also his ability to move it out of the zone quickly

He stepped down due to "lack of input in hockey decisions"
Well when your GM gives you this as a top 4 defense, I think you can ask questions:

Tyson Barrie
Erik Johnson
Francois Beauchemin
Nick Holden

The Rangers defense is remarkably better than this. We can shit all over Trouba at times, but at least he's better than anyone on this blueline.

I think Drury is waiting until after Howden hoists the Cup. Then he'll announce the new HC. Out of respect for a former Ranger great.

I've said in the around the NHL thread, I'm pretty much ready to move onto the off-season now. It starts with hiring a new head coach for not just the Rangers, but Ducks also.

I don't see this being dragged out to the draft. But then again, who knows.

What was Roy's problem in Colorado?

Anger management

Apparently ESPN radio in Nashvill said, Hynes was canned for losing the vets and being unable to motivated the team. But that’s Drury BFF so….
Laviolette had the same issues in Washington too. Those two names literally never made sense given what this team's issues are and what those guys were fired for in their previous stints.

The biggest positive with Roy is that he would absolutely shred Panarin. Those marathon shifts, soft players, dumb TO's, forced passes that have 0% chance of being completed - He will NOT stand for that shit. That kind of stuff will get his ass benched as it should have already. Wouldn't put it past him to put artemi on the 4th line and take him off of BOTH PP units until he earned his way back (honestly, this should happen at the start of the season if Panarin is still here.)

I have no idea if he would really be an improvement beyond what he was the last time he was in the league and there are a ton of reasons to believe that he wouldn't be. The accountability across the board is something that wouldn't be here with the other candidates on the table and that alone probably makes him a better option than the shit recycled candidates that we're supposedly interested in.

He would have to come with a strong X's and O's assistant.

That would be a mistake.

Igor will be great no matter what system he plays in. Finding something that works best for the rest of the skaters is the way to go.

Has there been any indication the Rangers are interviewing or have interviewed Roy?

Or is all of this in the media still speculation?

Who was that dude who tweeted the chatter is getting louder?

It's just speculation and chatter now. None of the big insiders have said anything. It's still Laviolette and Hynes at the moment. But things can change, lol.

If i had to make a bet id say the Rangers will go the safe route and hire Laviolette, even after all of this waiting making it seem like Roy could be the choice.

My faith in the top of this organization was never strong but its getting weaker

It's all attempted dot connecting.

They wouldn't have interviewed him already, his team was playing until last night so they wouldn't do anything (and I doubt he would either) that would create a distraction.

I have no idea who the f*** kyle hall is.
