I think you are overreacting. Drury did have a plan, and on paper a good one. But it didn't work. The plan was to load up on players with records of playoff excellence.
Just shows that, even with the best intentions, thinks sometimes go wrong. I've been a fan for over 60 years and have certainly had my share (!) of disappointments. This is certainly is in the top 10, but honestly, I didn't have much confidence going into the playoffs.
I'm not in favor of hiring Laviolette but I understand the thinking: an experienced head coach who has had success. Yes, he has had a lot of failure too but the fact that he keeps getting hired says that on some level, he can coach.
Unless Laf and KK make a leaps and bounds improvement next year, I don't see us as a serious Cup contender. But, that's why, as they say, the play the games. We'll see. I would agree that Drury is on a short leash here and the jury is still out on him.
