Series aren't won in Game 1, no matter how badly a team loses.

Although, Montreal seriously underestimated the Rangers speed and grit.

Game 2 is going to tell us a lot more about this series.

The hell did I just watch?

Wow Kreider was flying out there. Zucc, McD played great too.

Earing at worst a split in Montreal is huge. Still only game 1 though.

Brassard would be a big loss.

Enjoyable game to watch. Habs had terrible time trying to contain the speed from the wings from the Rangers. It will be interesting to see what adjustments they make in their neutral zone coverage. The good news is that the Rangers seem to have a slight size advantage as well.

Still a long way to go but the Rangers have nullified the Habs home ice advantage for the time being.

7 more to go....

Let's not forget, they played like **** for the majority of the 2nd period.

You say majority, but I think the Canadiens' dominant play ended after they scored the goal. We were outplayed for a half a period in the game, but it was a scary half period.

Thank you for this beatdown of the Habs, guys. This was beautiful to watch. I had a tear roll down my eye when it became 7-1.

Signed, Leafs Nation.

Does anyone know what Carey Prices' Career Playoff GAA and Save%s are against everyone that isn't the Bruins? Not trying to get ahead of myself, but he's been pretty awful from what I remember. It's like him and Rask switch places :sarcasm:

Good for Nash to get the monkey off his back. Kreider was flying.

Worried about Brassard. Moore filled in admirably but were gonna need Derick back ASAP

I just can't believe it....

Nash scored.

PP had 3 goals

Everyone looked awesome..

They connected on their passes...

Rangers dominate at the Bell Center? Aliens.

Great game!

Apart from the first 2/3 of the 2nd where they sat back to much with the two goal lead the Rangers thoroughly dominated this one. As soon as the game got close again (2-1) the Rangers took over once again and made short work of the Habs.

3 stars:

McDonagh
Zuccarello
Kreider

HM: Lundqvist

Kreider
McD
Henke

HM: D. Moore

When Kreider plays that kind of game, I'm not sure there's another player like him in the league. I know the comparison is MaxPac, but, Kreider is faster and stronger. There's still a lot of upside to this kid. And, McD looked like the future Norris Trophy winner we expect him to be. I like this team a great deal.

Needless to say I feel good about this, but if we actually got over the hump and won a game 2/won a game while leading a series, I'd probably be start levitating

Not saying it was Aliens. But it was Aliens.

Not sure what starcluster they originate from but sure they have plenty of ice there

Great effort.
We know next game will look different. The Habs will have some new plans, but anyway, great game today.

Tempered by worrying about Brassard's status.

Montreal fan here.

3 things.

  1. What a beat down. Congrats.
  2. MacD.... damn!
  3. goodluck in the finals

We beat pittsburgh in game 1 as well and needed to come back from down 3 games to 1 to win the series, so this series is a long way from over.

But yeah, I'll take a game 1 win. Great job by the Rangers.
