I completely believe that Richards is sincerely distraught.
Wow people, money and contract dollars does not instantly remove you from the league of human beings, who have feelings and understand pressure.

Hey, I'm not saying he is playing well consistently. But look at the team. Look at the team game. He may very well be a factor in the regression, all I am saying is it is pretty cold-hearted to think that Brad Richards does not care.

Tortarella needs to go. Don't care who agrees with me or not. This guy is a ****ing awful motivator and his lack of in game adjustment making skills are all too apparent.

Pathetic effort by a team that clearly doesn't care.

lack of? That implies he makes ANY in game adjustments.

Maybe the Old Beaver should have actually prepared for the season. Maybe he could even have kept in shape and played in Europe! It's OK to be distraught, Brad. You have 12 million dollars waiting at home. Go buy yourself a fancy bottle of wine.

I'm sorry, I'm just really starting to hate him and his play.

Yep bottom line. I will respect him when he pulls a Markus Naslund, but we all know that will not happen. Until then enjoy the cash Brad Wade. Sather is waiting to endorse your check

Torts postgame:

"we just couldn't solve Mason."

ok, Torts. You can't solve a back up goalie with almost an .89 save percentage?

You wanna know why you can't get goals? you don't get any traffic to the net, you don't go for rebounds in the slot and your team shoots on the perimeter.

Fellow Ranger Fans:

I wouldn't even get frustrated because this team is not going to do anything this season. Torts has to go. Its that simple. Once he is gone, then this team MAY have a chance of doing something.

I am a broken record about this. But this is NOT a player issue at this point. This has become completely a coaching issue. How the Rangers can even be considered an NHL team with the breakouts tonight is beyond me.

At this point, it makes ZERO difference if the Rangers make the playoffs as long as John Tortorella is behind the bench.

but we got 1st in the EC last year :sarcasm:

Originally added this to my last post, but it was already quoted as it was before I edited it so I just figured I'd make another one.

You think McDonagh is good now? Wait till he plays for a coach that lets him take risks, use his skating and opens up the ice. So many times I see a lane for him to shoot straight up the ice and create an odd man rush but instead he curls to the outside and throws the puck at the boards/glass because it's the "safe" play. Will he turn over the puck a little bit more? Maybe at first. But controlling it himself is better than throwing it up the boards where its a 50/50 puck and our forwards have to fish the puck off the boards.

He doesn't use his skating enough 1 on 1 right now. You see flashes of it, but he doesn't use it all the time because god forbid he makes a mistake and gives it up once he would be reamed out. He should be baiting a forechecker and cutting back the other way and skating straight up the open ice. He has the speed and agility to beat anyone 1 on 1. He will either A) draw another forechecker in and be able to make a tape to tape pass which would drastically improve this teams transition and give us more time on rushes or B) have all the time in the world to skate it himself.

I saw Moore do it behind the net once today. It was a thing of beauty.

Don't get me wrong, McDonagh is amazing. But he has the potential to be even better. Tortorella has done a great job as far as molding our defensemen defensively, but they need someone else to teach the rest of the game.

This is the biggest flaw of our breakout. It takes so much more time and effort to breakout when the puck is being wrapped around the boards compared to when it is a tape to tape direct pass.

The team has won games this year in spite of him with good efforts by Hank, Stepan and Nash, mostly.

That EC final last year gave Glenny boy another 14 years as the GM of this team.

This was just a dumb game, no flow.

As soon as the flyers got that first bounce you knew it was going to be a long night. **** it. Throw this game out. Kick the **** out of the panthers and get the games back on msg

THAT is EXACTLY how it is.......we have won some games DESPITE of Torts. It's like the players not only have to battle the Opposing Team, but also Tortorella:laugh:

TORTS MUST GO......it really is that simple

Agreed. Really liked the way he played. Showcased his speed as well. He makes some foolish mistakes, but I think he will be a good one when all is said and done.

I was saying earlier in the day that if stall comes back theyll need to choose between moore and eminger. Eminger has had problems with the puck and Moore has difficulties on the wall and staying on hos skates when hit, but im beginning to think his upsides with his passing and great skating ability may mean more to a team who struggles to score. He made a nice pass on zuccs goal and he was flying out there.

We need a more offensive coach, that much is clear. We have THE best goalie in the world and a defense that is more than capable of being top 3 in the league without hiding behind a defensive system. Can you imagine if the Rangers as a team forchecked like the Devils? That team has 0 offensive skill atm yet they constantly dominate and outshoot other teams. What exactly is our offensive game plan? Dman sends it out of the zone where hopefully a forward gets it deep into the opposition's zone (a lot of times we just ice it). At that point we send our three forwards to the wall. No one is ever in position for a rebound. We rarely ever have anyone in front of the net making life hard for the other goalie.

Shades of Olli Jokinen blowing it for us in the last game of the season to miss the playoffs hitting my like wave

The lack of urgency in this game is what's most concerning. Philly is literally missing half of their lineup and are playing the 2nd of a back to back. Our guys come out like it's open hockey and they're going to win no matter what. If Philly was amazing tonight, it might have been easier to swallow.

However, the lack of emotion, urgency and caring really has me sick to my stomach and angry. Does anyone not names Lundqvist, Stepan and (apparently) Richards even give a **** about winning?

Tied for the last playoff spot, playing like they have it clinched up. On the brink of missing the playoffs and they decide for basically not try very hard for the first 2 periods. Very angering. I'm going to the game on Thursday vs. Florida. I really hope they come out on fire.

BTW, paging Rick Nash. Where are you? Time to be the difference maker and game breaker that you were brought here to be.

Counting on one guy to be the answer.
It's not really working. Would you not prefer some savvy, energetic and confident playmaking involving all linemates, and the defense chipping in while covering for each other?
I know I would. Other teams seem to at least practice that type of teamwork.

BTW, paging Rick Nash. Where are you? Time to be the difference maker and game breaker that you were brought here to be.

Gotta be kidding me...

Nash leads the team in goals (17), tied with Stepan for most points (35), and leads the team by a large margin with 157 shots on goal.

All that aside, the guy has scored huge goals for us this season and been a game-breaker on most every night he plays.

He is not the issue, the issue has been secondary scoring and the power play. All. Season. Long.

so not only does Nashty have to beat the 3 forwards, 2 Defensemen, and the Goalie, but also Torts System.

Man.........that's asking a hell of alot from one man isn't it???:naughty::sarcasm:
