It has nothing to do with behind the worst defender in the league. Staal wasn’t even remotely the worst D in the league. Neither is Nemeth.

But we seriously need someone who is willing to stand up for his teammates on this team, in our division, with the history we have here of not standing up for each other. Nemeth isn’t that. He is also basically just as good as any cheaper depth LD. To go 2 years at a higher cost for that is not something I am impressed by at all. JMHO.

im pretty sure he can do a solid job in New York lets be positive but i wanted Ryan Suter to Rangers

Marc Staal is awful. There is a reason he just signed for $2mill in one of the worst cities in the United States. Detroit signed him for mentorship - that is all they are getting out of him.

Yeah me to, but maybe he wasn’t interested, But I would — much — rather have added someone who can contribute to the team’s chemistry and mentality. Provide some back up for Nils.

Nemeth is an OK player that is a tad immobile, a tad of a stiff but a fairly good hitter.

I don’t get why we always have to be by far the softest team in the league (at least in relation to the division we are in).

Yes to soft really annoying to se them get destroyed by a bigger and meaner team.Gone are the Jeff Beukeboom days =)but lets hope they can build a more balanced team going forward they really have the forward talent and the goalie i hope and think he can be vasilevski light in the future.

Gotta give Tom Wilson credit he literally made the Rangers focus their entire offseason based on him as well as getting the GM/President fired. That’s a pretty big accomplishment

Ryan Suter wants 4 years and for lots more money. We need a stopgap for 1 or 2 years. Nemeth is perfect guy for a bottom pair role that can help Lundkvist and he's Swedish also. Some you guys are just insufferable.

This is such bullshit. If Tom Wilson was the reason they would have signed a true heavyweight like Reaves. Blais and Goodrow are nothing like that. It's about in general being tougher to play against and being able to compete in the dirty areas and along the walls with the more physical teams. Why is this so hard to understand?

A bit surprised Nemeth is the vet LD the Rangers are bringing in. Not too bad, not great. Another C grade move really.

Let's hope he has a better season with the Rangers in a system not quite as open as the Avs played last year.

Will you be happy when the 2022 2nd round center we draft is head and shoulders above Pinelli? It might be the deepest center draft class ever… Wright, Lambert, Savoie, Cooley, McGroarty, Yurov, Bystedt, Vidicek, Namestnikov, Geekie, Ostlund, Gaucher…

On topic, don’t be surprised when Nemeth is our overpaid 7D halfway through the season.
 
Hes not the worst defenseman in the league he just kind of sucks is all. He's a lateral move from Hajek. On par with Hajek at playing defense except Nemeth hits more and gives up more turnovers. He's fine for a 7D.
Any more term than 2 years is too much.
