Is he anything like his brother (as a player)?

I am a bit surprised he went undrafted. He's a talented kid who definitely was on the radar of some teams about a year ago. His skating is excellent, which he and Brett definitely have in common but Brady is more a playmaker than Brett. He's 2 days younger than Sýkora even, so I wouldn't be surprised if a team takes a flyer on him next year.

Chances Rangers sign Berglund? At 22 years old could be one of those undrafted players that work out. he is a center which helps his cause. Hope he has a great camp to earn a contract.

He is by far the invite I'm most interested in. Decent size, good motor, sees the ice well, can move the puck around. He's not a good skater but we'll see how it plays for him in this, and then maybe into camp. If it's "good enough" he definitely has a chance as a utility guy in the bottom six.

Wishful thinking, but its more likely he becomes another one of those Khorodenko or Richards signings. Never hurts to take a swing though

He is my favorite invite. He seems to have potential even as a Blair Betts type. I’d take that and run.

They are still useful but considering this guy is only 22. He seems to have a bit more upside and potential.

Oh, of course. He's a longshot to receive a contract. All of these guys are. When you've gone undrafted--repeatedly--your odds of making it are incredibly slim.

Camp Invites:

Brady Berard - Providence - NCAA
Carl Berglund - UMass - NCAA
Luca Fantilli - Michigan - NCAA
Louka Henault - Hartford new signing
Gerard Keane - London Knights - OHL (Brother of Joey Keane)
Samuel Malinski - Cornell - NCAA
Tanner Palocsik - Dartmouth - NCAA
Eric Parker - Bowling Green State - NCAA
1st time we did not invite any goalie we did not draft? Keane's numbers look similar to his brother. I wonder if he skates as good as Joey.

Thank you. Sounds like he would be a good under the radar signing.

The downside of kids going to college is that they are no longer eligible for the NCAA once they sign their ELC. So it's more likely he's drafted in 2023 in his 2nd year eligible than a team signing him in the next 12 months.

Rangers took a shot at Pajuniemi in 2018 in his 2nd year eligible so who knows.

Jaroslav Chmelař (R5, 2021) is another one missing from our dev camp. I reached out to him and he told me the Rangers prefer him being part of the Czech u20 camp instead in preparation for the 2022 WJC in 4 weeks.

Initially I thought it was injury-related or, like Henriksson, also visa issues but it's something entirely different. Hope the kid can make the WJC team.

Obviously the bigger names speak for themselves, but the most interesting players in my mind for each group:

Group 1: Lamb, Grubbe, Robertson

Group 2: Trivigno, Lindbom, Berglund, Tarnstrom, Skinner

Looking at a few guys that basically have the prospect status up in the air (Grubbe, Lindbom, Berglund, Tarnstrom, Skinner). Lamb is the one player that doesn't have that going into this season per se, but he is heading to a pretty good Minnesota team. Snuggerud and Cooley are the headliners. Knies is returning. Will be curious about his role.

Robertson being there is a surprise for me. Played 65 games in the AHL last season. Not saying it is a knock on him, but a weird addition. Still 21, and won't be 22 until March. He should be leading Group 1 IMO.

Trivigno should stand out in this camp. He's one of the older players there. I don't know how much wiggle room he has in terms of making an impact outside of being an AHLer if he isn't in the NHL by season's end. The way he plays, he should be able to do it, but will they have the room to give him the opportunity?

i think having Trivigno and Roberston here is partly for grooming them as the emerging young leaders for this year's group, behind the AAA(A) vets
