Im loving Chytil's game. Keeping it simple, straight lines, good puck support at both ends and skill when the opportunity arises. The kid can motor. And that pass to Kakko was filthy.

Agree about Strome. He's in a bad spell. He's throwing blind passes all over there place and can't hit the net.
Strome never takes the puck to the net. And he often skates it wide below the goal line and throws a blind pass into the slot…that regularly becomes an odd man rush the other way for the opponent.
Not to mention all the gratuitous penalties.
Crikey.

numbers gonna look weird when our number 1 PP unit had essentially a 3 minute shift with that 5 on 3 PP. also schneider missed like 10 mins of the 1st period when he got hit in the face with the puck.

It’s the PP time that is skewing the TOI. PP1 had 3 and a half minutes of PP time. If you look at the EV time, Panarin’s line got the most, and Zibanejad’s line and Chytil’s line were about even.
yeah, that's the problem. They didn't even get a 4v4 shift when they are blatantly your best players on the night.

It's being obtuse to what's actually happening in the game.

Biz saying he would take the Penns over us everytime.

He’s also a moron

Not sure why Fox is still killing penalties at this stage. Wouldn’t you want to see more of what Braun or Schneider can do there? You’re going to need them. Fox shouldn’t sniff the pk till playoff time. Should be down around 20 mins tops these next couple weeks

No one is going to believe this but I picked up Georgiev and started him in my fantasy semi final last night. I just had a feeling.

And you all know how I feel about him

No matter the outcome of the post season I think next season Gallant gives Fox and Lindgren a breather while KAM, Trouba and Schneider all put up 20 mins.

I don't watch closely enough to see if Fox and Lindgren are getting hit way more than last season or if they're just starting to wear down from the long season. But Braun and Schneider are capable of getting more minutes, especially PK.

agreed

I still have some faith Chytil and Kakko can be impact players. Lets keep it going. Chytils speed helps that line and its great to see Kaako shoot. Hopefully he realizes his shooting and skating need to be better for him to be anything. Defense and board play only gets you paid so much.

Does anyone remember the last time they saw Kakko walk in and blow a puck by a goalie clean? Wrist looked bionic on that one.

I don’t think I’ve seen it in a rangers jersey frankly.

Hell of a game for him he was really moving out there too. Had a few real good chances. Cross bar right before the goal too

I think it's the first time I've seen him score a goal like that and I loved it.

I don't see a Panarin player discussion thread so I guess I'll post it here.

Would really love for him to crack 100 points. Way more than I'd want to see Kreider break the goal record.

He's got 89. He needs 11 points in 7 games to make 100.

Can.... he.... do.... it????

Sadly my guess is no, but would love to see it. Feel like 100 is a hallmark.

This is what the Rangers are "counting on". The terrific trio aren't terrific yet......but if they all pan out the way we want, then we will be in the money for at least 3-4 years, and covering for whatever dropoff that Panarin/Zibby/Kreids encounter......and that is "if" they drop off. Good times are here already, and better times a coming.

"Walk in" is the key element here. Even as soon as last year, he would have shot where he received the puck. Didn't panic and just took the ice afforded. Yeah, game has slowed down for him and THAT was indeed great to see. Bionic baby!

We don't even need them to hit sky high expectations. If Chytil can be a 40 pt 3C, Kakko a 50 pt 2RW, and Laf a 60 pt 1RW we are in good shape 9assuming those totals are without PP1 time).

I dont even remember him even skating to the middle of the ice, let alone sniping it from there

So pumped for Kakko last night. Some players i find myself cheering extra hard for, just wanting them to succeed in a NYR sweater. Pulling hard for the kid.

On the first goal, it was sort of a gimme. It was a great shot, however i felt like it was the parting of the red sea with the Flyers defense. They gave him all the time in the world. That team has given up.

He almost scored on the same shift but hit the pipe. That was a great release on that one.

On the 2nd goal it was a beauty pass and Kakko was in great position to receive that pass. Was a real nice play.

In all, was a great game by the entire 3rd line.

Props to Geo. Came up big with a shutout. Made some high quality saves, but again i felt like the Flyers just gave up. The Tank is on in Philly.

Last night was deceptive. We beat a team we should beat, though it wasn't at all convincing. Sure we had a couple of stand out players, but there are still problems.

Someone mentioned it: Not sure about Fox/Lindgren going deep into the play offs. Not that Lindgren isn't tough as nails, but he's on the smaller side, as is Fox. They'll get ground down in the long run. It's a bit late to be playing with defensive pairings, but there's a reason Leetch/Beukeboom worked so well back in the day.
