I hope they can do that. I can’t envision them actually offering the QO. It’s too risky. I could see a market for him at 2/$3m or so. But locked-in @$2.5m per, i don’t think there are many takers. Rangers might have to keep him at the expense of a solid bottom six guy.Yea you can trade him before the deadline and let the team either qualify him or sign him to a multi year contract.
Brooks talked about it today how a team might offer the Rangers something for his rights instead of letting him not be qualified by the Rangers and becoming a UFA, thus being allowed to then talk to every team as a UFA.
