Brendan Smith would be our 4 th D
He would be the 5th D. Fox, Lindgren, Miller, Trouba are all comfortably better than him.

I think Smith at 800k for 1 year is far better than Nemeth at 2.75m for 3 years. I think they really valued the Swedish factor with Nemeth for Lundkvist. But still Nemeth is fine as the 3LD and he's good on the PK, but Smith could've been fine in that role. Idk Smith did have a tendency to be a bit scattered and Nemeth is pretty steady, that was probably also a factor.

For the Olympics which I couldn't care less about.

It's great for fans to have condensed schedule... it's really shitty for the players. Every team is going through this. We just got the shit end of the stick, starting on the road.

there is literally not another team going thru what we’re going thru with all these road games other than the islanders

Believe me I love Igor but he’s a bit diva-ish when it comes to contact let’s be honest. He stays down when he’s fine

look at other games guys are all over the goalies this isn’t exclusive to us. There’s only so much the dmen can do nowadays in front and they’re all dumb as shit when it comes to pushing guys into their goalies.

Canes win :sarcasm:

since you dont want to do it i'll do it for you. Tonight the Carolina Hurricanes played the St. Louis Blues. The goals were as follows:

1.) CAR scores - Skjei
2.) CAR scores - assisted by DeAngelo
3.) STL scores - Buchnevich
4.) STL scores - assisted by DeAngelo ;)
5.) CAR scores - Brendan Smith assisted by DeAngelo

edit: I should also mention that anyone hung up on former rangers should try watching this current rangers team. They’re currently winning games and might even be a good hockey team

8-3-3.

They win tomorrow and its 9-3-3. Pretty damn good start, all things considered, especially with how many self-hating Rangers fans we have who think this team is just the worst.

You keep winning and collecting points early while the team finds itself under a new coach.

tofuMika is deferring A LOT. He made a nice play with patience on the PP setup to Kreids, but if he has a kunt hair of confidence, he shoots that

Running Shesty.... you need to make other teams take notice... with an 'oh shit, we shouldn't do that' moment. Someone needs to go Tom Wilson.

If only the Rangers had acquired Ryan Reaves.

This has been my complaint since early on. I distinctly remember multiple games early last season watching Rooney or Di Giuseppe make fast, skillful rushes through the NZ and thinking “oh, there’s Laf. Wait. Oh f*** that’s not him”.

You’d think the kid would at least be able to carry the puck for more than 2 seconds. All he does is chip and lazily chase, circle around, and skate off. There is NOTHING there.

Enough of that though. Laf is literally the only thing to complain about tonight. Shesty didn’t play his best and they bailed him out. Good team game.

Gaut had a good game tonight. He adds much needed speed and is hitting a lot. Drawing penalties and making pays. When Fil cones back it should be Laf...not Gaut...that comes out. It's AHL time for the kid.

Alexis Lafreniere? Don't know him. But they should send down this Xavier LaFlamme kid.

Shesterkin also appeared to get whacked in the head/neck with the stick before getting a knee to the head

I'm sure he did stay down longer than he "needed" to but honestly after a big collision and shenanigans going on maybe it's better to just stay down until things are under control

Pretty weak of Texier...I don't think it was all exactly intentional but I don't think he made any attempt to avoid the goalie and it should have been a penalty. That little bump from Nemeth isn't enough to force him to go leaping into the back of Shesterkin. It was reckless.

The answer has always been Schneider, been telling everyone since they drafted him, but management obviously promised the spot to Lundkvist to get him here because he was the 3rd best of the young d we had at camp but i believe theyll leave Schneider in the minors this year to toll his contract along. He'll get the 6 games or something but they wont burn a year off his rfa.

Nemeth threw a guy on our goalie, being a former player i know how my mindset was, if you're gonna take me out of the play by dumping me on your goalie im not gonna do anything to avoid contact with him. That play is on Nemeth.

Do you flail your leg out so that your knee hits the goalie's head, as well? It can be stupid on Nemeth and still dirty by Texier.

I like Schneider better at this point. Hard nosed kid who can help clear the crease. +8 YTD

I also think Nils might benefit from a stay In Hartford.

I'd like to see a rotation of Nils, Jones, and Schneider--~10-15 game stretches with the club and a homework assignment when they get rotated back to Hartford--until one of them grabs that spot as their own

Absolutely agree. It looks unavoidable at the end of the play but he knew what he was doing getting to that point. Igor was out above the crease and that sloppy bitch thought he’d ‘shake things up’. Dude was playing pissed off all game. It’s just big boy hockey but smacking him arm round wouldn’t have been wrong either. Especially considering how critical Igor is for us.

Nemeth routinely checked a guy cruising into the slot looking for contact. It is what it is. But certainly not anything wrong by Nemeth.
