Tortorella says he won't call Sinday an elimination game.

I hate this ****ing guy. **** the two wins they got. Wish they would have gotten swept. Maybe we would have seen this guy gone.

Hey Torts - SUNDAY IS AN ELIMINATION GAME you jerk off
I agree but Torts sint going anywhere. James Dolan is still the owner. Dolan was the same idiot who let isiah thomas run wild and destroy the knicks for years. Torts is gonna be here as long as he wnats probably

Any general observations on your boy Boyle and his penalty?

Bad penalty to take, I don't deny that.

That said, I thought he played fairly well at ES, though, good along the wall and he did his job. He was also the only Ranger who managed to put the puck in the net.

Look, if people want to think that penalty is "why we lost the game", go right ahead, I'm not stopping you. But I think it's a ridiculous way to look at this game. The Rangers got dominated by the Caps for 45 minutes, plain and simple. if you wanna pin that on a third line player, be my guest.

Who said it was? Why does a comment about a poor part of Lundqvist's game immediately mean I am blaming the loss on him (keep in mind I explicitly said earlier in the thread that I did not believe that to be the case -- funny that you conveniently missed that comment)?

Sorry, I don;t read every single post that gets posted.

Then why make the ****ing comment at all?

That's the excuse here for when your bank roll bling bling top-flight talent isn't playing up to their paycheck. He must be hurt! I call this the Gaborik Syndrome. At least with Gaborik it was always possible he was hurt since he was playing hurt pretty often.

It really is unbelievable.

Although it's too late to start now, we have a goalie who'd I'd let face most of the shots thrown at him. To me, like many goalies, is more "in the game" when he's getting consistent work load as the game wears on.

Save the shot blocking for the PK - let Henrik do the rest. Be ready for fast transition up the ice.

With our roster, we're faster than what we play most nights. We don't need to play grinding, collapsing-defense hockey.

I really think Nash is hurt - I saw in one clip from the bench tonight his sleeve was up and bit and he had a hard-shell brace on his forearm to the base of his wrist.

Callahan needs to have a game where he's hitting everything in sight. Outside of the great Erskine hit I've seen him shy away from finishing a check to instead turn up the ice. Not sure what's going on there, hopefully he's not hurt too.

I'm not mad at Boyle. Yes he had a dumb penalty but he otherwise had a great game and it was good to see at least someone out there playing with some intent and urgency.

Give me a break. So you can't shoot. So what. Move your ****ing feet, and use your big body and hit. Do other things. Crash the net. I've seen none of those things from Nash. That's what it takes in the playoffs no matter what type of player you are. Brassard has done it. Moore has done it. They've both elevated their game. It's like hes not even putting in effort unless he has the puck on his stick. And even then, unless he's got a huge amount of time and space, he's not doing anything.

He's floating. At least Gaborik got into open areas of the ice. Nash hasn't. "Oh **** there's a guy right on me. Eh whatever I'll just stand here and let him cover me. No need to get open."

Boyle has more goals than Callahan, Nash and Richards combined. There is absolutely no way that his single blunder right there is as massively poor as you're making it out to be.

So much goes into losing a hockey game. Boyle is a but a single piece. He also happens to be a single piece of why we almost won.

There's a difference between poor play and selfish play. Poor play, when there are players on other teams also who are professionals and also good is forgivable. Selfish play is not.

I know. I know. Just wishful thinking.

Showing up for 1 period = Great success

That's on the coach.
It seems with this system they think they are killing the other team if the have a one goal lead and take thief collective foot off the gas.
Where is the coaching
And the referees were again disgusting

Lundy is gonna "lebron james" out of New York, if they dont fire that idiot headcoach LOL.

Won't ever happen. He will be here his entire career. The players around him are the only thing that need changing.

You do know you omitted the 2nd and 3rd period to make a point, right?

I did.

2nd was bad, third was a disaster. Point is they are perfectly capable of coming back in this series and even if they don't, its not like they're losing to Florida. These have mostly been close games with a slight edge to Washington. Which is a team that could probably make it to the ECF if they went through.

Fair criticism and outbursts of anger and passion are fine, but this "world is ending" mentality that are displayed by some is just over the top and not fair to the team.

Same old story

Its the same as when Hank lets in ONE bad goal and suddenly a 1-0 or 2-1 loss is his fault.

Where is Nash, Callahan and Richards? Ugh

Take a look at when the dominating started. It started after they scored the tying goal. This team was just sunk by that and it completely tilted the ice to the Caps. We had a really solid 1st period, the 2nd started out OK but after that call? Complete domination. Was almost hard to watch at times.

I think we win this game if it's on home ice, to be honest. Not having the crowd behind them to help with that ******** penalty and ******** goal broke them mentally.

I'm mad that this team broke mentally after the last two games where they showed amazing mental strength.

FWIW, I thought we played a solid OT. It was back and forth and some of the best, most exciting hockey I have seen from any team in any year. It sucks to be on the losing end of that OT.

General observations:

- Richards is done. Completely and utterly useless tonight.
- Don't know why Pyatt is getting **** on, he's been solid in this series IMO
- Dorsett played his best game as a Ranger
- Brassard, Hagelin, and Stepan were out most effective offensive players. Boyle and Zuccarello were decent as well.
- Nash was terrible again, but he really does look like he's injured out there. Doesn't have that skating/strength that he had in the beginning of the season. If he isn't injured, well...I regret the trade, to be honest. The ONLY thing that could excuse his play thus far is an injury.
- Lundqvist played his best game since game two. Didn't have to make a ton of crazy saves, but he made the saves he needed to make.

I completely agree, have no idea why people are getting on Pyatt. Dude's played harder than Nash or Richards and has made some good plays. He does a lot of good little things.

Have to agree here. Washington was the better team for 2.5 periods and has been overall. The PP, which has now sucked for years, could have won us this game but did not. I don't know what else there is to say. I think this is probably over on Sunday. And....Doug Wilson fleeced us with Clowe, who after 2 concussions is not worth re-signing. Oh well.

Who is blaming Hank? I have seen one person blame Hank for anything to do with this loss. That's it. And he was immediately shot down. Why are you complaining about something that doesn't even exist tonight?

I disagree, I thought the Caps dominance started after they had those flurry of chances to end the first period.

Agreed. I thought he had a poor game 1 but has looked solid since. He was dog **** during the regular season but has stepped it up a bit in the playoffs.
