Very early obviously, but I don't know if I can envision them making the playoffs if this is the long-term bottom 4 D. It's not NHL-caliber.

The Rangers seem to have convinced themselves that Lindgren-Fox and Miller-Trouba are perfect combinations, but we'll see what direction the new coach goes in as things wear on.

Why is Tinordi here? I expected him to be #8 coming in. I'm very surprised and a bit disappointed that we had all those young D going for one spot and f***ing Tinordi got it somehow.

All the character and grit we added were hands down the best part of this game (except Tinordi, he can go kick rocks). The talent needed to step up.

The most concerning thing about this game is that we had all the same problems as last season.

Need an actual backup and a 2C.

Kakko needs to be setup to succeed at all costs, he looks legit.

First game of the season, things are gonna be rough, especially with a new system and coach, just have to brush it off, and get ready for tomorrow.

Outside of the Fox and Lindgren we have no defensemen on the current roster. Trouba is overhyped trash. Miller is way too soft. Send him to the AHL. Nemeth and Tinordi aren't even ECHL caliber.
Kreider is horrible. I think we've seen his peak and we are watching him fall off of a steep cliff. His contract will be talked about in the likes of Lucic maybe even Redden.
Georgiev doesn't belong in a professional hockey league.

I love Blais. Liked what i saw from Kakko and even Lafs physicality. Loved Chytil. Like Reaves.
The rest of the team was just there I guess.

Georgiev is terrible. Team has no confidence in him and he single handily torpedoes the penalty kill. Guy is terrible. The team didn’t play well but it started with him.

They looked good in the first period and then started taking penalties. New coach, new system and some new players so I’m not surprised they looked disjointed but the penalties killed them.
All the whining about roster decisions but this game hinges on them scoring on their PPs and us not scoring on ours.

I don’t care if the season starts with back to backs, you play Igor both nights. He just had an entire offseason off, he can play back to backs to start the season.

Wayne's audio just being broken on the stream feed, while he was apparently rambling through 2 Caps goals in 30 seconds, brought this thing up to dystopian level

im no hockey guru, but I can see for 2 seasons now that georgiev is not a good goalie. how the hell is he still on this roster let alone starting opening night? I really hope Drury respects kravtsov's trade demand like he did georgiev's alleged demand.
