The only thing I worry about is overpaying for him. I wouldn't give him much of a raise if at all (I feel like his current pay level is very fair for him). I have a feeling he prices himself off of our team, which would be unfortunate.

Agreed. Cant overpay a guy like that. Whats the most you would give him? Years and money.

Just finished watching yesterdays game and then today's game. Yesterday we deserved to loose. One note. Can't watch another game on NBC. I'm not getting into it.
Today was a great game. Fun to watch. I just wish we had Prust on this team. You have to give Dorsett so much credit for his heart.
The guy is really small and he'll go against anyone. Teams are not afraid of him. Sestito, the hair puller, said to the Ranger bench, "Which one of you are going to do something about it". We need a legitimate Tough guy.

I was surprised by how angry Tortorella got at Alex Edler after the first goal. I wonder what his reaction would have been to Marc Staal's give away yesterday.

I thought Falk would show an inclination to use his size to defend his teammates (especially after Sestito going headhunting). In my opinion, that is a topic more worthy of discussion than Boyle's lack of fighting ability.

I was hoping for the same thing when I saw Falk starting to shove, but that was as far as he'd go. Post definitely wasn't about Boyle's lack of fighting ability specifically, but the whole teams need for someone who will put meatheads like Sestito in his place. Nash even dropped the mitts this year to defend a teammate. Dorsett is a sparkplug, I like him, but we need a heavyweight.

literally, who gives a crap? sestito is going to do that crap no matter who we have on the ice. what i care about is the 5-2 win.

how many times have we lost a game, won a fight, and everyone feels great about it.

And LOL @ people calling Boyle OK on defense.

Boyle is a very good defensive player.

This is embarassing. Boyle gets so much crap from this fanbase, 99% of it undeserved.

NCAA players don't fight at all, while their juniors counterparts have been going at it for at least 6 years longer.

Yeah, Boyle sucks at fighting, no surprise. But he sticks up for himself and his teammates.

He makes $1.7M per, paid in blood every game. PKs, blocks tons of shots, and isn't bad in the dot either. He's a 4th liner. Cut the dude some friggin slack.

I understood the Boyle hate when Torts was overusing him and we'd see him out there when down a goal with a minute to play... But now? He fits his role perfectly. He's a 4th line defensive center who is great on faceoffs and one of our best PKers. That is the role he is in right now, what is there to complain about?

Clearly losing a meaningless fights warrants personal attacks on the guy and pages of bickering. How ridiculous. We win one of the best games of the season. One of our best prospects in years gets a hat trick. All we read about is people arguing about Boyle's fight, then just snowballing into a Boyle thread. Can't even enjoy the win.

Also, very disappointed that Falk didn't step up and fight either Kassian or Sestito.

No reason to do so. If Del Zotto was in fact injured, or feeling >100%, Vigneault would essentially be left to roll out 4 defensemen for the rest of the game.

It would also leave no one to protect Nash and Stepan. I noticed Falk was on an awful lot to end the game with the Nash line. Right now, Falk is the enforcer, like it or not.

In 2 months, hopefully he has help.

Idk if its been discussed yet. Judging by AV's presser I though his responses about the goaltending situation were interesting. I think he's going to go with Cam on Monday and ride the hot hand. We have to get out of this win one, lose one deal. Just wondering if it will light a fire under Hank or piss him off if thats what happens.

I realize Hank hasnt had the goal support that Cam has had, but Cam has just been so calm and solid out there. The team seems to respond so much better when he's in net. Very interesting.

lol if this was how fighting worked every heavyweight boxer would be 7 feet tall.

I second that. Isn't your own Kid Dynamite/The baddest man on the planet 5 ft 8 in.
Go fight him in his prime. Even if you was 6 ft 7 inch you would break your neck.

Tortorella was mad Kreider was the one who scored on the Edler turnover. Edler said the puck was bouncing. Tortorella lost his mind because it was Kreider.

Vancouver is a borderline playoff team. You could see that in the summer. Those three California teams are top notch. They will have to fight for a wildcard. No depth. Santorelli was great for them in October. Richardson was good too. Kassian hasn't developed for them. Did the twins and Kesler play yesterday? Kesler has fallen off. Burrows is struggling big time and is in the first year of a long-term deal.
