Everyone knows we play our worst hockey up by 3.

Only amplifies what this team also lacks:

a goalie giving up a soft goal is deflating. anyone who has ever played any type of hockey knows this.

i'm 100% NOT blaming Biron for this game. Let's be clear. Henrik Lundqvist would have lost tonight too. I'm just saying, he didn't help the cause either. it was a complete team FAILURE outside of Stepan and Hagelin who are the only 2 guys who are playing well right now.

Love this gem from the post presser from Torts tonight:

"Ya know coming into these last three games here: we played pretty well. We find a way to get a point in Ottawa. We can't get into a panic mode, we just got to get more consistency out of our players."

A Rangers team that is now 1-2-2 in the last 5 games. They have played pretty well?? Their one win in 5 games was against Washington. A team they barely beat....

2013 New York Rangers- the SS. Tortanic...

I agree with this. When your team isn't playing up to snuff lately, and you all go out one night and really seem to be back into your groove... when that 1st soft goal goes in your net... it's like being punched in the gut. It sucks and can really turn what you thought was a come-back game into another nightmare.

But as Inferno says, Henrik would have lost this game too.

He's just totally clueless. "We find a way to get a point in Ottawa". Ottawa was without their #1 center, #1 D-man, #1 winger, another important D-man, and had their #1 goalie out from almost the beginning of the 3rd. Let's throw a ****ing parade that we got a point!!! Oh and we lead 2-1 late in the 3rd. We "find a way to get a point"? How about we found a way to lose a point? This guy used to tell it like it it. Now he ****ing sounds like he's the Rangers' PR director.

First goal was on Boyle, couldn't corral a puck which lead to a turn over. Then made a panicky clear which was intercepted. Rangers couldn't get set and Boyle managed to cover no one in the slot.

3 strikes and yer out...

Well not exactly, your back out on the ice next shift.

BUT BUT BUT, Boyle is the bestest defensive force in the history of the NHL! So good that it makes up for how terrible he is in every other aspect. If he can't even play well in his own end what is he useful for? He's entering Mike Rupp territory.

I see some good things out of Miller, but I'd give him more time in the AHL. Physically I think he's there but a plethora of mistakes. I know rookies will go through these but I'd rather him work them out in the AHL now. Also, I know it's only been a few games but Mashinter doesn't really do much, a big body who can skate decently enough but that's about it. Would really love to see him be more physical. I admittedly haven't seen him much, but is Haley physical throughout the game or does he just fight? Would be curious to get a look at him.

Too late. We already burned a year off of his contract so might as well keep him up here. No idea why we didn't send him down a few games ago...

This game was obviously a first degree **** show and everything, but can I just add that the pregame festivities in Montreal are extremely overrated? I kind of like the kids with the flags, but would you guys like to know how it all starts?

First, one fan's video of Ole Ole is shown on the scoreboard. Then more join. And more join, and even more. Until they make a Habs logo. The Ole Ole crap continues on for at least three excruciating minutes. Not fun at all. Oh, they don't even have a goal song. It's a horn, and then a train advertisement is shown on the scoreboard.

But I must say that their scoreboard is very nice. Beautiful, actually.

Back to deservingly piling it on our team, they were embarrassing out there. I didn't watch the third period because I just left after two, but oh boy. They completely fell off the wagon in the second period. Where was the forechecking? Hitting? A sign of life?

Not impressed by Torts' comments either. You found a way to get a point? Is that an accomplishment now? Against a team missing its 1C, 1D, best winger, and a whole bunch of others? Let alone that you were playing their backup goalie in the third? That's unacceptable.

Am I alone in not being on the ledge? Rough stretch no doubt but the Habs are playing good team hockey right now and we are still struggling to find our identity this season while dealing with a lot of new faces and injuries. Though if McD, Girardi and Nash are out for a long time we're in a ****** spot. I thought the team looked very good that stretch with Boyle sitting out. Went downhill after that and now we just keep shuffling new guys into the bottom 2 lines and they're not really able to develop any kind of chemistry.

The Rangers looked good in the first period.

It went very much downhill after that. Hard to see much good in it, if you are honest about it.

Game sucked but hearing Torts the Clown trying to spin and enter self preservation mode is priceless .
Torts haters of the world unite and take over !!!

I have very little to say. The idea that this is a Stanley Cup contending team is ludicrous. Injuries are not an excuse. I'd say fire Tortarella, but replace him with what? I don't want a retread like Lindy Ruff.

Only thing I have to say is, I don't want Sather making a bunch of trades to make trades. What are you going to get in return? Sometimes you just have to buck it up, get healthy, develop the kids, and come back strong next year. Trades don't help. You build from within, and add a judicious free agent.

And could Sam and Joe please stop making excuses. Team is poorly coached, has little talent up front on the ice right now, and has the worst power play I've seen from a putative contender in 40 years. And please get rid of Ron Duguay on the post-game. Don't know if he's actually watching the game.
