You're assuming that most of our fan base knows who he is. Plus Fire Torts is more catchy.

Everyone knows who Sullivan is. Our PP looked pretty good the last few games. Firing Torts at this point is just a dumb suggestion and IMO it's even too early to fire Sullivan.

Who laughed? You mean the Biron chant? Sure. It's a big story between Habs fans and Biron and they thought he embellished a hit. I did like the encourgements for Girardi though...

As far as you won't deny dirty plays even if it's your own team...well that still remains to be seen. I've rarely see it. You might find the hit dirty, but chances are you will find some reasons why it happens 'cause the other guy always leans....or put himself in a bad position....or he had hit somebody from your team before etc. It is so easy to see the same hit from 2 different perspectives and unfortunately, the right view of it has to come from a third party and even a third party....isn't always THAT without sentiments from either one of the teams.

I'm referring to the Marty chant, and I'm referring to the considerably large group of Montreal fans saying McDonagh "got his" from Pacioretty. I know hockey is a game of "you hit me, I hit you," but I really refuse to believe hockey is a game of "you hit me, I crush your head on the boards."

Or the fact that he was about 6-8 inches off the ice when he connected with the hit.

Not on the pics taken. You actually have to leave your feet PRIOR to contact to considered having jumped. Not ON contact when the contact and your opponent falling makes you automatically leave the ice with the force of impact.

I somehow knew that the ole "they thought he was embellishing" argument would come. How about erring on the side of caution and not being a bunch of *******s? He lay on the ice for a while didn't look like he embellished it to me. I quite frankly don't ever remember him embellishing a hit before, or at least to the point where he lay on the ice for a while. Making excuses makes you look worse. You don't even need to apologize (although if my fans did that I'd apologize and be sickened by it). But making excuses is making it worse.

Step has been our best forward for the last 8-10 games!! Torts will lose his job in the next week if this team does not get going!!

Relevant user name.

I just want to know where exactly is Stepan running for mayor? How the hell can he build enough support/funding to run for mayor being a professional NHL player....

Its amazing...

What platform is he running on? Free Toupees for everyone? Sam would be thrilled.

I will say this.

If the Rangers play continues at this pace, with the next four games being at home, things in the Garden might get ugly. Chorus of boos and perhaps our first "Fire Torts" chants?

I don't think I can ever bring myself to do this, maybe the Fire Torts chant.

Unfortunately, the game is more about "You hit me the way I hated, I'll get back to you when I can". How the end result happen to be is pretty tough to determine. McDo sees him coming, protects himself or wait for Pacioretty, don't play the puck and gives Pacioretty a check himself and you have a different turnaround.

I also hate to see players get injured. I personnaly prefer to see a "I hit you legally but hard and you'll hit me back legally and hard" than anything else INCLUDED some freakin brawl because a team can't accept that one of this teamates got hit hard. But nobody LOVES to see players getting seriously hurt. Thing is, Montreal fanbase was most like on the other end of those hits and fight and got a whole lot of lessons about what "strong hockey hits" are and how fighting non-fighters are still part of the game...

Anyway, we'll see how this end. I don't think your fans should just be too judgmental of your team. Wait till you have everybody back healthy.

Don't boo them.

Just stay silent. Complete, deafening silence.

Why would I apologize? I didn't chant, not going to apologize for it. My beef is that it's incredible that there are other tough crowds in the league. But those crowds are considered "tough" and "a loud building to play in". Yet, Montreal is often...unclassy.

Making excuses? Well, the point was that I'm pretty sure as dumb a crowd is, that they are not actually wishing that a guy's career is in jeopardy, that a guy is seriously hurt and so on...If so, why would you explain the encouragements towards Girardi? A dumb crowd is suppose to be always dumb no?

it also does not help when Marty Birons 5-hole is 14 miles wide.

Just saying.

I know we played like crap, but the guy is just terrible down low.
