Post-Game Talk: Rangers/Canadiens 2/23/2013

it also does not help when Marty Birons 5-hole is 14 miles wide.

Just saying.

I know we played like crap, but the guy is just terrible down low.

Yep, we definitely we're gonna score and win the game with our play today had it not been for Biron.

I can't put anything on Biron at all. Can't ***** on the goalie when your team fails to net a single goal.

Why would I apologize? I didn't chant, not going to apologize for it. My beef is that it's incredible that there are other tough crowds in the league. But those crowds are considered "tough" and "a loud building to play in". Yet, Montreal is often...unclassy.

Making excuses? Well, the point was that I'm pretty sure as dumb a crowd is, that they are not actually wishing that a guy's career is in jeopardy, that a guy is seriously hurt and so on...If so, why would you explain the encouragements towards Girardi? A dumb crowd is suppose to be always dumb no?

I said you didn't have to apologize. I would have apologized for the Rangers fan base if they did it to someone. However, that's not necessary. I just don't like the excuses. I don't know what you're talking about tough crowds. Philly fans are always called out. Whenever someone cheers an injury they're always called out. Also, it would help if your team didn't do the bush league "Ole Ole Ole" chant and didn't chant "Nah nah hey hey goodbye", less than 20 games into the regular season (for example Carolina game). Finally, it would help if they didn't boo the American national anthem. This is not an isolated incident. Most bush league fan base in the NHL, and only Eagles fans give them a run for their money for their money in all of sports.

Learning for the first time about this Biron chant. I didn't hear anything like that; if some people were chanting it must have been a very small pocket of A-holes. No excuse for trash-talking when a player's on the ice.

I did notice the applause when Girardi was helped off the ice. That seems to be a better representation of the Bell Centre crowd. Not optimistic about him returning soon as it looked like he blocked the shot with his ankle.

Obviously, I also hope McDonaugh isn't badly hurt and is back asap.

Also obviously, I'm a Habs fan who's happy with the win, but never happy when it comes at the expense of an injury. Tough season for you guys.

That first goal was awful. Second goal was bad luck. I still don't know what happened on that third goal, did it hit someone? Seems like bad luck again, unless it was purposely deflected. Then it was a nice goal. For as ****** as this game was, with better goaltending and luck, we could have won it unbelievably. Still we got really outplayed. They had the far better chances. I thought we were supposed to have the best D-corp in the league.

Much appreciated. It's nice when a fan doesn't make excuses for the bad behavior of some fans. It was a pretty faint chant, so it was the minority. Enough however, to be heard.

This was one of the worst performances I've ever seen.

I thought we had a pretty decent 1st period considering all the injuries. Their first goal was all on Gilroy. Their 2nd goal was pretty fluky. The 3rd one also seemed out there. Our string of bad luck has only gotten worse. It went from not being able to score to everyone getting hurt.

This team is soooo soft, they play with zero passion, zero urgency, i mean mcdonagh gets planed face first into the boards and not a single player even chirps paccioretty. It's disgusting, absolutely pathetic watching this team.

If only Gilroy could make those tape-to-tape passes in the offensive zone ;)

From start to finish, I knew they would not score. When Girardi and McD went down and they finished the game fighting a 5 on 3 I was almost laughing.

What a ****ing **** show. I'm sorry, but this team sucks right now. Sucks hard. Would not win a 7 game series against a single team in the league.

First goal was on Boyle, couldn't corral a puck which lead to a turn over. Then made a panicky clear which was intercepted. Rangers couldn't get set and Boyle managed to cover no one in the slot.

3 strikes and yer out...

Well not exactly, your back out on the ice next shift.

yes....that's EXACTLY the point I was trying to make.

not that the Cole goal was ridiculously soft, and that it seemed like the entire team fell apart after giving up that goal.

no, it wasn't that at all.

oh, i forgot, pointing out a player wasn't very good is the exact same thing as placing the entire blame on him.

Habs hit what, 2 goal posts, and Plekanec missed a net that 99.99999999999999999999999% of the players in the NHL would have scored on?

If this team feels like packing it in after one goal, then they deserve where they are currently sitting at.

Other teams come fighting and crawling back from 3 goal deficits, but our little divas can't even attempt to play with a little piss and vinegar when down a goal?

Well then, **** them.
