If "ifs" and "buts" were candy and nuts, we'd all have a merry Christmas.

I don't give a flying **** what events transpired before. Hank's family could have been abducted by the CIA with black bags in front of his own eyes before that shot was launched and it still would have been a bad goal. The shot was in the center of the net and bounced off his damn chest and into the goal.

And you also going on about his chest. If the shot went off his chest, there wouldn't be a goal. Who knew under the left arm is considered part of the chest now.

Even then, too many stupid plays from these morons that cost us the game instead of playing basic hockey.

Looked like a game from last season. Have a lead? Sit back and watch the other team take shot after shot after shot, till the eventual tying and game winning goal go in. Felt like they barely got 10 shots after the second goal.

At this point, I'm actually hoping that Callahan has some nagging issues from his recent injuries.

McD, Nash and Stralman were positives.

Did Stepan, Hagelin, Kreider or Zucc play? Aside from one speed play from Kreider, I didn't really notice any of them.

Brassard needs to find some gonads. He was flinching away from contact every time I saw him in the offensive zone.

Staal needs to sit a game. Not only does he need to get the message, but benching an A might actually send a message to the rest of the team as well. He's played almost a third of a season now. A couple of those games, he's looked like his old self. Maybe half a dozen more, he's been good to decent. The rest? He's been a disaster. It needs to stop. The turnover on the third goal was the backbreaker for me. Staal had two wide open teammates to pass to in the other direction, but instead he tries to force it down the boards, right to the Boston player who knew that that was EXACTLY what he was going to do. No excuse for that in the third period of a tie game.

As I mentioned last game he is really hurting us by being really really horrible on faceoffs four years in a row now. Since neither Richards or Brassard are any good on them either whenever we are in a spot where we really need to win one it's like we need to put out Moore or Boyle solely for the faceoff.

It's something he needs to work on. He is routinely at the bottom of the charts in FO%.

He needs Crosby's work ethic (and talent ha ha), but work ethic to improve in areas that need improvement. Crosby was absolutely terrible in the face off circle his first couple of seasons, worked on it, and has become one of the better face off men in the league. Stepan needs to make it a point to say "this is the area I NEED to improve my game in."

Oh come on , they suck pretty bad. Just come to grips with it! Classic Rangers . Suck. Rinse. Repeat lol

Stop being another idiot that just complains about losses like a repetitive 7 year old venting about not being picked for a team by dismissing it.

Don't watch the "classic Rangers" if they "suck" and only ever "rinse" and "repeat".

You can come to grips with it.

"Just come to grips with it!"

You're a rationalizing baboon who can't take a loss in stride and ***** on the team when they lose to detach yourself from the loss because you can't handle it.

Classic bandwagoner. Come to grips with that.

I'll fully admit at how shocked I am at how badly Girardi, Staal and MDZ regressed. same happened to Dubinsky

Rangers front office needs to make serious strategic decisions. The rebuild with youth hasn't worked.

what happened? Is it the money they got while living in a city like New York? None of the young hawks seem to have any issues with effort and decision making while playing in a massive city with plenty of distractions. Same with the Kings.

All I do know is the schedule gets easier. These scrubs just don't know how to be consistent.

I've come to terms with the fact that we spot the other team a goal before a game starts when Lundqvist is starting. That's bad for an average goalie, much less "the best in the world". The guy is no longer anywhere near elite. I don't even care that the team has played like ass. Yeah they played like ass. Outside of Lundqvist they have 1 damn player MAYBE that's in the top 10 at his position in McDonagh. Even then, outside of the 1st goal and that Lucic breakaway, the only great chances Lundqvist faced all game went wide of hit the post. The D wasn't all that great, but the Bruins weren't all that great offensively either. We got let down by "the best goalie in the world" AGAIN. I really hope we trade the guy. The guy looks to be on the decline he will be a HORRIBLE contract if we extend him. Unfortunately he's the most marketable player on the Rangers and I don't see him going anywhere. Goaltending has been as good as it's ever been in the NHL, overpaying on what is an average goalie now is a sure fire way to doom your team. I'd love to trade him, get some assets, maybe a backup goalie and have Cam start. I doubt he'll be any worse.

If they can't win against Buffalo, I'm packing it in for the season. Right now the Rangers are torture to watch...add that to a potential loss to the sucky Sabres. I feel sick just thinking about them losing to a team that has John Scott and Steve Ott, as well as screeching Rick Jennerette for an announcer. I can't take it.

Dont tell me what i did, thanks.

What goal scorer?

I will tell you whatever I damn feel like. If you really think this team sucks then you weren't watching in the late 90s and early 2000s when some of us on here were. Those teams sucked. Those teams were horrendous.

Don't come on here saying this team "sucks" when it's obvious that they don't. This isn't the Mets. This is the Rangers. A playoff team with holes in it. The very definition of mediocre.

I'm still looking at the catalyst for this: Alain Vigneault

I have been less than pleased with the product from day one of this season. I have seen little to nothing from him that's impressive. He's the X factor, he was brought in to change things for the better.

They've gone from "eh" to "meh".

AV's Rangers are off to the worst start for a Rangers team in the better part of a decade. That can't be ignored.

There is no reason why a weak side defenseman should ever be tight on Marchand there, that far out and outside of the crease.

So letting a forward fire away with nobody around him is the right play? Cool.

It went off the side of his chest and past his arm. It's a goal most average goalies would save let alone a guy who is supposedly the best in the world.

But again. You put out all of these ifs as excuses for Hank. It was a **** goal. If you want to be objective, you'll agree. I'm objective since I said it's a team loss and everyone sucked. The other two goals on Hank were not his fault at all.

Blaming Hank for this loss is irrational. He let in one bad goal that decided the game but he made a ton of great saves early on. We were just pushed around by a bigger, stronger team. The finesse was not there, either. Too many bad decisions with the puck.

I don't remember all of those great saves. I remember a great save on Lucic, maybe a few other ones, but for the most part they either hit the post on their great chances (one wasn't even a great chance they hit the post on) or shot it wide. Every game it's a bad goal. At some point someone needs to blame him. It's appalling how according to some it's acceptable for your "greatest goalie in the league" to allow a softy every game because he makes some great saves. And when he doesn't make those great saves there's excuses "well it was a great chance again". Any average Joe can just make the easy saves (apparently Lundqvist can't even do that), the "greatest goalie in the league" needs to make some great saves and that doesn't mean that he can allow softies every game.

I will say this till we move on to the next retread:

AV was the laziest hire in the world. It was so quintessentially Sather.

now go look up toews, crosby, and ovis stats... funny how captains lead the way

Toews: 75gp 20g 44a 64p, 2010 Conn Smythe winner, 2 time Stanley Cup winner.
Crosby: 82gp 40g 65a 105p, Stanley Cup.
Ovechkin: 58gp 31g 30a 61p

These numbers I've posted from Callahan, Toews, Crosby and Ovechkin are PLAYOFF STATS.

Callahan's playoff numbers are PUTRID.

So let me ask the question, what's "funny" about "how captains lead the way?"
