I was ok with it in the first but it got a bit ridiculous later. Though Ferraro did admit were the better team the second half of the game.

I thought the announcers were definitely slanted towards the Bruins most of the game. They spent 30 seconds bashing the passing before Strome scored the first goal. They were just a bit too Bruins happy. How we ended up in a 4 on 4 late in the game after that knee on knee was atrocious by the refs and wasn't even pointed out by the announcing team.

This comment has nothing to do with a Boston player on an nyr player, but I think it's disgraceful that in the NHL kneeing or even an attempt to knee another player isn't an automatic match penalty. It is such a dangerous play that is 50 50 to cause a severe injury and there should be every incentive NOT to event consider putting a knee out on another player.
Tape should be sent in....that, albeit a slower event... was still a flagrant knee toss....no guesswork on that one needed .

Gauthier wasbatbtat career point last year where a player has to sometimes accept that the way they have been able to play at every level prior to the NHL isn't going to work at this level. That can be a battle sometimes and a lot of players are unwilling to adjust. Gauthier seems to be accepting this and adjusting. It's been a multi year process but good on him for doing it. He looks like an nhl players and I hope his confidence grows

Gauthier's career was at a critical juncture and is fortunate to have a strong camp, a trusting coach who was more willing to give a guy a chance and keep him in the lineup for 3 games at a time rather than 1 under Quinn. The injuries helps but the Gauthier still sat for 17 straight games last year.
I feel Kakko has thrown Quinn under the bus enough and now it's Gaut's turn to be interviewed by French media.

igor is so gd good. feel like we mostly took control over the second half of the game but he was a monster early. and even throughout the second half he made some incredible saves on so pretty ugly breakdowns in front.

felt like on the other end our guys made swayman look better than he played esp in the second and early third.

awesome to see this team go and take another game late though. gauthier has been great lately and obviously stood out today, what a play to control that pass behind him from strome with his skates and then showed his strength powering through mcavoy? on the boards to even create the 2 on 1 with laf.

definitely some ugly out there but not gonna get hung up on it. 2 points in an afternoon national tv game on the road are a rare occurrence for us, take em and run

I mean Goodrow crosschecked McAvoy in the face and good for him. Again, normally I would say that's a bullshit move by Goodrow to crosscheck a guy in the face but he just kneed one of your guys. If you are beat on a play and want to punk someone you trip them. When you're putting out your knee for knee on knee contact you're trying to hurt someone and I'm okay with someone going back at that player trying to hurt him in retaliation.
they normally dont call that. Same with Fox getting his stick up after the whistle.

If you're going to let them play..... let them play unless its egregious

Anyone had the HDSC-MDSC-LDSC comparison between the two teams tonight? Missed the game. The shots in the 1st is lopsided but it seems like they recovered?

This team has a pattern. And the sooner we all acknowledge it the better.

part 1: Shesty carries us in the beginning.

part 2: we find a way to keep the game close.

part 3: We start to come on.

part 4: we generally play better than the other team in the last 30 minutes.

It's very similar to how the Kings were so dominant in 2014. So, when we hear no nothing announcers bash the way to the team plays in the first or fans going crazy that we look like crap in the first half of the game -- just ignore it. If we're getting blown out, sure. Be concerned. But if it's tie or a 1 goal game by the midpoint, we've got a much better than 50/50 chance of winning. Very different than in the last few years.

Kakko had an open net for a back hand, didn't lift the puck, goalie got it with his stick... following that exactly play Kreider gets called for a slash... since that point it was REAL HARD to watch until that last shift.

we were really struggling in the 1st

I think the announcers overblow the idea that we're getting outplayed and get caught up in shot-spamming. I think we've been good recently.

That being said, it's been demonstrated time and again that most playoff goals are cheap and shot-spamming works in the playoffs. We have to be better at preventing shots and more proactive about attempting shots. Something for us to work on.

Face offs continue to be a problem. Dating back to before Quinn even.
That has to be addressed and consistently worked on.
Not being able to have possession off the draw is going to bite us in the long run.
As a whole, I’m very happy, but of course certain aspects and players need to be better.
I’m very happy we have a team that seems to give a shit and care about one another again. It was pretty ugly last season in the post game pressers and just the overall air around the team and the room last year.
That has done a complete 180.
When teams play for each other and refuse to quit, that becomes quite infectious. As does physical play.

You know how the NHL works, they were never going to give the team winning the game of power play that late. Officials will tell you that on something like that late in the game they'll try to find a way to even it up. I'm not saying it's right, it's just how it goes

Honestly, Marchand probably thought it was funny too. Him and Pasta weren't even mad.
Well...in all honesty....Panarin showed them they had got to him ,and the glove toss is a stupid thing . Almost as bad as watching the Staal slapfest with Semin back in the day . I thought it was a bad look .

Who really cares? I guess the Bruins will laugh it off as "oh did Brad ever get under his skin", whereas the Rangers will say, "good for giving it to the rat". The Rangers bench and Panarin were laughing as he went down the hallway.

Just a funny scene, Panarin will get his 5k (most likely) and that will be that.

Kreider with that Michigan move, that would've just been too perfect if he actually scored, he should keep trying that move. He is playing with so much confidence, you REALLY have to be playing with confidence to try that move in an NHL game.

How did Lundkvist play?

If the game takes place on Sunday.... we'll see Tinordi.

the icing on the cake, they gave Goodrow a cross checking penalty

They tried hard to keep Boston in the game.

Boston, just like the piles, get away with murder. Obstructing and interfering all game.
Bruins are the best at that kind of play...always a subtle foot kicked out around the Ranger net to trip up a defender . It happened about 4 times today and not called once....
