Gauthier doing big-boy things.

I don't think its too much of a shock that guys like Goat, KK, Miller, Kreider Trouba, Reaves, and Hunt are doing well under Galant.

They are all playing with a presence. Its noticeable, even when not scoring goals.

I very much disagree. He was very involved in all the three great scoring chances that line got. He first himself had a good opportunity, failed to elevate the puck enough. Then that pass to Zibanejad, who failed to score (credit to Swayman for that desperation save), and finally it was all him working that puck to Kreider for his Michigan try.

Now I agree, that line still didn't play good enough, but that's mostly on Mika. Kakko and Kreider are doing their job. Zibanejad HAS TO BE better.

I hear you and think you make good points generally about what is going on. But I think the fact that we can remember the three times he made a dangerous play is kind of exactly it. He was on the ice for 4 scoring chances for and 12 against 5 on 5. That’s not all his fault but I wouldn’t say he was great either.

Also Taylor Hall is still impressively overpaid because he had one really good season a few years ago.

And video of Gallant yelling at him like a child.

Would GG yell at messier like that ?

Respect is a two way street

The difference is you don't NEED to yell at a Messier. Until they can play like that consistently it's the boss's prerogative to coach them however he feels will get the most out of them.

Check out the simple but effective play miller makes in his own end to start goal number 3.
Everyone blaming KAM for the 2nd goal, he could have played it better but it was not his man.

Rooney and Goodrow have been doing this a lot actually. They need to do a much better job communicating, who gets who. Rooney was in no-mans land, covering no one, while KAM trailed his guy up high.

I was unable to catch the 3rd unfortunately. 1) Why did Panarin throw his glove at the rat? 2) Please tell me that the ESPN announcers were devastated by the Rangers winning.

Completely agree.

I was screaming at the TV... McAvoy gets a MINOR for nearly ending someones career. That's total BS

Like targeting. ANY player that does that should be gone and it should trigger an automatic hearing with the league.
Put this into context, panarin actually got more of a punishment today for throwing his foam filled glove than McAvoy gets for throwing a rock hard reinforced (shinpad and) knee out on a guy. Let that sink in...

1) Why wouldn't he?

2) They spent the last few minutes crowing about how we're winning "largely because of Shestyorkin" although they did acknowledge that the shots ends up closer than they were in the first.

From someone who’s torn every single ligament in his knee you’re never the same after. Great way to alter someone’s career. Scummy play
And there's really no reason to do it other than punking or hurting a guy. It's one of theost demgerous things in the sport and take the game today where it wasn't even called kneeing for some reason, they called it a trip. It's a f***ing knee...

Exactly. That's a problem. The NHL doesn't care and that's another problem.
Players are apparently expendable. Have you ever seen a league care less about the safety and welfare of it's players just in a general sense?

the icing on the cake, they gave Goodrow a cross checking penalty

They tried hard to keep Boston in the game.

Boston, just like the piles, get away with murder. Obstructing and interfering all game.

I was ok with it in the first but it got a bit ridiculous later. Though Ferraro did admit were the better team the second half of the game.

the icing on the cake, they gave Goodrow a matching minor.
I mean Goodrow crosschecked McAvoy in the face and good for him. Again, normally I would say that's a bullshit move by Goodrow to crosscheck a guy in the face but he just kneed one of your guys. If you are beat on a play and want to punk someone you trip them. When you're putting out your knee for knee on knee contact you're trying to hurt someone and I'm okay with someone going back at that player trying to hurt him in retaliation.

Gauthier's career was at a critical juncture and is fortunate to have a strong camp, a trusting coach who was more willing to give a guy a chance and keep him in the lineup for 3 games at a time rather than 1 under Quinn. The injuries helps but the Gauthier still sat for 17 straight games last year.

Did Europe get the game as ESPN, because here in the States it was ABC?
