Wait until Cuylle, Berard, and Othmann get here too. Lots of truculence among that group. I think the last two are much more likely than Cuylle to be contributors in the top 9 up and down the lineup at any given time, but Cuylle I see at least being a 4th liner in the NHL.

I think I still find a way to get a different player besides Strome on this roster moving forward. I want just a little more two way play in that spot. Larkin would be a dream, but a player like Radek Faksa out of Dallas would be much more in line of what's realistic.

You don't trade Strome with the way this team is playing. Sucks, but there's really no other option than to let him walk for nothing unless he takes a RNH contract.
You know...there is a real good chance those three are not in the organization in three years time...all trade pieces / sweeteners in deals for Cup attempts. It's the Ranger way . You have to give to get . Scouting and drafting & development is so important for an organization . I hope we have the right people in the right places as we will need that pipeline . We can't afford too many swing at the fences picks but every now and then one won't hurt .

Another thing with these shot based stats are that they are quiet subjective. Hank commented on it a few times over the years, many teams have homers counting the shots but at MSG they are conservative.

I kept an eye on that shot stats and counted 3 shots Boston had early that were blocked while we were counted low.
Wouldn't be the first time that shots on goal were Tilted towards the hometown. It's a specific stat that gives the announcers an opportunity to say that one team is outplaying Another, especially if they're biased towards one of those teams (Boston)

If you couldn’t see the bias on full display today, it’s not even worth the debate.

If you believe the refs, the league, and the announcers are against you, please explain the motive for these things and please tell me why fans of every team in every sport believe likewise.

Are Rangers fans right and all others wrong? Or are some fans just delusional?

Everyone blaming KAM for the 2nd goal, he could have played it better but it was not his man.

Rooney and Goodrow have been doing this a lot actually. They need to do a much better job communicating, who gets who. Rooney was in no-mans land, covering no one, while KAM trailed his guy up high.
Oops, didnt see u said this. I said the same later on. I replayed that time and time again (in game pausing) I knew something was horrifically played wrong. Sure enough.....Rooney and Goodrow.

I brought it up on the trade board but a small trade with Vancouver of Hajek for Chiasson could make sense for the Rangers. Chiasson is a legit RW who has had success playing with talent players. Even on the dumpster fire of the Canucks this year, he has very good possession numbers. UFA after this year too. Vancouver is very light on LD and a Hajek would make a lot of sense for them.

Not sure why any NHL team would desire Hajek, but someone might.

So many good things from this team today.

• Solid team play with an emphasis on finishing checks
• Lindgren was outstanding
• Miller was outstanding
• Very good game from Kakko
• Lafreniere looked great. He loves to take the body which is huge for this team. Great finish and you could sense it was coming
• Chytil is a demon on skates out there, he may be the fastest skater on the team soon.
• Are we seeing Goat finally figuring it out? Wow
• The Strome goal was absolute filth and clinic on puck support and making smart plays to keep possession.
• Rooney, Goodrow & Reaves is not only the best 4th line the Rangers have had in a decade but it’s probably the best in the league right now.
• Love the fire from Panarin
• This team has swagger
• Igor is a sensory delight
• When a guy like Hunt can stick with it on the top line, it makes your team deeper and Gallant understands that
• Kreider, are you kidding me?

Haven't seen analytics, but I thought 4th line was poor in this one.

They get this "winning because of Shesterkin" narrative from the Rangers own fans and local nyc media. It's what they read and hear, so not really knowing the team they run with it.

Same thing happened with Lunquist, and it's not so much that "our folks" were/are complimenting the goalie as it is/was them putting the rest of the team down.

They don't like the gm, or the "asset management", or think the rangers should tank for a mythical crosby...so they make an excuse for the winning by saying it's just the great goalie. It's shitty...and the lazy national hockey media accepts it and furthers the bullshit.

The stats do say that the Rangers have been winning because of Shesterkin. 1st period was a prime example of it, but Rangers carried play the rest of the way in this one.

Black Friday Bean Town BEATDOWN.

After 20 I am really happy with where this team seems to be headed. I don't think any of us expected this after the 1st 20.

Wish the 3rd pair filled me with a bit more confidence, cause they don't. Particularly on defensive zone draws.

lets be real, the same 3 will be atop the metro. We can keep pace over this schedule.

We have to maintain it until the back half of the season. We don't play any of the top teams until Janurary - Februrary. It'd make for Playoff hockey in early 2022 but it's really heavily weighted in the back end.

our final 2 games of the season will be against Carolina and Washington. I really do think it'll come down to those games for seeding

If people just read The bold and don't really think about it they're missing out on something. I say that's pretty profound. And couldn't be more of the truth. In essence, guess what you're saying is that this team really isn't playing very well, and seems to have another level or two that it could reach. That is amazing, and we might be in for very very wonderful ride.
At the beginning of the year we looked like a bubble team but were winning. It was an open question if it was a fluke or if it was a good team figuring out ways to win without playing our best. I'd say we look like a fringe contender. I know it doesn't feel like it because there are nine teams in a similar boat, but we are literally on a President's Trophy pace. Not sure that our play will ever look like a President's Trophy winning team, but Zib has yet to get going, and it's totally possible Laf and/or Chytil take off. If we keep it up we'll probably aim for a major piece at the deadline.

After that, who knows? A hot goalie can take you far and ours is as good as anyone's.
