This comment has nothing to do with a Boston player on an nyr player, but I think it's disgraceful that in the NHL kneeing or even an attempt to knee another player isn't an automatic match penalty. It is such a dangerous play that is 50 50 to cause a severe injury and there should be every incentive NOT to event consider putting a knee out on another player.
I think McAvoy is a little brain damaged, really. Hasn’t he had a ton of concussions? He knees a guy and has zero remorse. Like ‘your career is less important than my butt-hurt’. Glad Rooney is ok but refs absolutely call the score and result. Not that anyone’s surprised but you’d think that maybe they’d be moved by a dangerous play like that. That was almost Ulf Samuelsson level. He didn’t quite have his full weight on Rooney’s knee though.

He's not skating or battling. He's cruising along, half assing nearly everything. That's the problem.

He could have had a hat trick today but I would still criticize him. He's not playing the way that made him that fat contract. Goals is a part of it but his compete level is not where it should be

Disagree...especially on the pk, he's battling plenty. If he played the same game today and scored twice people would be saying he's back to himself, the points werent there tonight but he battled plenty.

So true. You should go back and read the GDT during the 1st period. Some here are just insufferable.
I do not know why people are surprised by this.

The GDTs are reactionary, based on what is taking place.

If the team looks terrible, the posts will be about the team looking terrible. If a player makes a great play, the posts will be about a player making a great play. Whatever happens on the ice will be magnified in 'live threads'.

When the team is losing, the board becomes negative.
When the team is winning, the board becomes positive.

So, he needs to take that same energy and translate it to ES.

We know he can do it...

Nah, even when this team is winning many posts are negative and way way over the top. Like if there is a giveaway from somebody that leads to a goal it isn't just a single bad play but that player automatically becomes the worst player of all time and should be traded, and please don't tell me this isn't true. It's annoying.

Do you guys think we need to upgrade from Hunt? I feel like he's a major hole on our roster. He's playing Fast's role but I don't think he has Fast's shot or offense in general.

I think the problem is that we don't have a lot of NHL ready depth at wing. What we do have is cap space. I'm not against grabbing someone whos going to be a UFA to compete for a spot with Gauthier/Hunt.

He had a goal and an assist today and cost us nothing. I am ok with him for a while. If Goat keeps improving, maybe put him on the top line, Kakko on the second line and Hunt on the third.

I hear Kravtsov is NHL ready

From someone who’s torn every single ligament in his knee you’re never the same after. Great way to alter someone’s career. Scummy play
MacAvoy is worse than Marchand if you ask me. He gets a lot of heads and knees. Marchand is a troll but actually Marchand usually takes more damage than the guys he hits.

Not really and I like him as a player, just wish we had someone better. But once again Panarin was Hart worthy in a season he played with Fast and Hunt is a similar caliber player.
Dude you should watch the first and third goals again. You'll see that Hunt picked up right where Kakko left off when he got transferred to Mika and Kreider. And that being said, I still think Kakko should play with PS and Hunt with KZ. I think Hunt can get Mika skating a better pace with his zippy tenacious forecheck. Kakko is more of a heavier plodding forecheck. Hunt has PS zipping around and buzzing.

Reeves also play a big part of this.
Reaves in my opinion is what gave this team the confidence for the skill to show. Need to have a hard nose player that leads the way physically, something we didn’t have for a long time
They know that there is a deterrent to some stupid stuff.
Goodrow is willing and Kreider using his strength and size.
Taking liberties with our skill is not going to be good for the other teams
Happy to see this 180 in philosophy

I just realized if we still had Quinn we'd probably be something like 9-8-3 and all of the people that were defending him because we had so little talent last year would be saying the same thing this year. However, last year was mostly the same team other than a legit top 6 winger in Buchnevich. Better 4th line though.

Wish we still had Buch, especially given the injury to Blais. The Rangers would be even better.

I will say if he gets passed his injury struggles, from what I've seen from Blais, Blais plus a second wasn't as bad of a trade as I thought this offseason. He's a very good player, just injury riddled. He's probably our most skilled grinder, unless you count Gauthier.
