I wish this ended up as a goal.

This is the first time in Kreider’s career he’s playing in a system that suits his play style and he’s becoming fully unleashed. Total mad lad.

My jaw dropped seeing it lmao, he's one of the last players on the team I imagined doing that. In order my guess would've been:

Kravtsov
Chytil
Panarin
Lafreniere
Kakko
Strome
Zibanejad
Gauthier
Kreider
Reaves
Goodrow
Rooney
Hunt

It’s funny. They could be 20-0-0 and this place would still be unhappy about something. I said before that it’s a good sign they are winning games and not firing on all cylinders. Good teams find ways to win, bad ones find ways to lose. Happy with this team, and the Mika and Strome hate is just over the top now.

So true. You should go back and read the GDT during the 1st period. Some here are just insufferable.

One thing that would've been totally overshadowed (though rightly) had that been a goal, the work by Kakko to win that puck back to Kreider.

Kreider and Kakko did great things with Chytil last season when Quinn briefly played them together before Kreider was injured. Both love to grind, it's just a matter of getting Zibanejad going.

No joke, that was the worst and most slanted broadcast I have seen in a very long time. Not only that, but todays game was the first game of the year on ABC and we are almost in December. ESPN hasn't broadcast a game since the beginning of the season. I'm so disappointed in ESPN/ABC/Disney. I would give anything to have NBC/NBCSN broadcasting games again.
A good part of that is NCAA football... that schedule dictates a lot from the start of the NHL season until now-ish. There were plenty of national games on TNT and that was the plan all along with the new contract.

Once we get to Xmas, the hockey on ABC will ramp up even more.

NBC wasn't that great either... even more bias announcing (don't have to remind anyone of Pierre and his Pen's fetish) and they did a lot of crazy cam angles early on in the contract also... "Trying to grab the casual fan and grow the game" etc. Then they realized that hockey is covered he way it is, because thats the way it should be.

They've lost a lot of sports and continue to do so.

NBC Sports Network is going away... everything will be on USA so there's a good chance the lead in for anything at that point is a CSI marathon.

I'll admit to being one of insufferable ones during the first period but in our defense that might have been the worst period we've had all season that didn't result in a lopsided score.

To me it doesn't matter. Some people overreact to every bad play and every goal against like its the end of the world even though this team has a stellar record. It's so tiresome and it makes so many GDT's so hard to read.

Yes you did: the announcers fawning over the Bruins and not understanding the difference between shot quantity and shot quality and having to eat shit, the Rangers waking up and taking over the game and scoring some nice goals, Kreider trying the lacrosse goal at full speed in tight in the NHL and Panarin proving that if you want to clown, he'll f***ing clown right with you.

Another thing with these shot based stats are that they are quiet subjective. Hank commented on it a few times over the years, many teams have homers counting the shots but at MSG they are conservative.

I kept an eye on that shot stats and counted 3 shots Boston had early that were blocked while we were counted low.

Despite what most here think, I thought Mika played very well. Could have had 2 or 3 goals.

His scoring takes off in the next couple games.

Bring the abuse on.

BTW, the 4th line got manhandled for one goal and got manhandled late in the 3rd.

Don't like seeing them late in a game where they're up one.

4th line is a good forechecking/energy/pressure line, but they're not very good defensively.

to be honest it feels like Zibanejad is just kinda getting some bad luck and if thigns start going in then he'll pick right up

Yeah, I definitely don’t think a game like this from Ziba should be questioned in any way shape or form, if so, the one doing the questioning have way to big expectations.

great job by the goalie to recognize it and stay tall. Just got a piece

This team is a winning team.

A big part of that is simply that it’s well balanced. It’s important to have grinders on the depth lines. And as a consequence, you also can’t have a ton of kids there.

He's not skating or battling. He's cruising along, half assing nearly everything. That's the problem.

He could have had a hat trick today but I would still criticize him. He's not playing the way that made him that fat contract. Goals is a part of it but his compete level is not where it should be

Yup. That’s why all of the fawning over Boston by ESPN was weird. They had a few good shifts here and there but in the first period it was a lot of quantity. xG at 5v5 in the first was almost even.

Solid second two period by the Rangers. I’m really liking this team.

Only downside is Kakko’s point streak ends but at least Laf scored.
I honestly thought that was the Bruins announcing crew. They were more even as the game went on but the first half of the game was pretty aggravating.

If Kravtsov didn't abscond, does Gauthier get the opportunity to rise up?

Next man up is about the coach and the system allowing unestablished younger guys to be groomed for success and we're doing that well this year with the 4th line, Hunt, Gauthier etc.

I wouldn't be opposed to parlaying Kravtsov into a mid 1st round pick or a late 1st round pick + something else to a team that needs a top 9 skill player now so we can effectively transpose Kravtsov's salary raises that we expected in training camp 3-4 years down the line.
