Gorton takes the blame here. Signing McKegg and Haley. Absolutely pathetic moves. We debated this over the summer and we arrived at the conclusion that until their usage was known, it's just as a 13F, 14F and yet here we are, a team with no depth. No Vitali, no Lias, and none of our tweeners have stepped up.

But that statement isnt accurate. He is a wonderful offensive player but defensively he is average at best.

And even more worryingly IMO is that there is still so many question marks about what the roster will look like next season and beyond

you people need to get a f***ing grip. We're a team of kids going up against the defending Cup winners and top 3 team in the league that plays a heavy and discipline game, a horrible matchup for us. Definitely not the matchup you want to subject your rookie goalie to. Hank is being sacrificed for this one.

I think that was part of the plan. You dont start Shesterkin tonight because in all reality, they are not going to beat the Blues on the road. Henrik loses a game, gives up a number of goals, it justifies putting Shesterkin back in. You can keep Lundqvist out of the line up for a couple weeks and convince him to retire.

True, but also good goalies don’t let up a goal after every high-danger scoring chance in a game. Hank needs to make a save. But yea we are still atrocious defensively.
