Lundqvist was bad this game, won't deny that.

However, this is yet another game where we get shutout against a Stamkos less team (who aren't the best defensively at all). Starting to really become annoying.

We better win Wednesday, because Friday afternoon against the B's on the road is going to be rough to say the least... just one of those games i have no confidence in us winning.

Comments I'm pretty sure I read this afternoon in the GDT, too lay to go look:

"Bishop? Ugh Shutout incoming"
"Kucherov is playing? 100% chance he scores his first against us"

Really depressing how predictable it is. Clockwork.

Every year like this too. Nothing changes.

Cause it'd be nice if you ever backed up one of your points with facts about WHY Erat sucks? I don't think this team needs him but he certainly doesn't suck.

Ok, he doesn't suck. He's a marginal talent, at best. How does he fit in with other margin talent?

That better?

Lundqvist did play pretty poorly.

But this argument that giving up a soft goal "takes the wind out of the team's sales" is such a ********* argument. Wasn't Vigneault supposed to unlock the offense so we didnt have to worry about Lundqvist playing out of his mind every night? What happened with that?

I backed it up, he wouldnt add anything to this team. What would he add?

"Erat sucks because he doesn't add anything to this team".

50 points and great two way play?

SA16 has a point. Instead of looking at obtainable options that aren't bad players to begin with, lets just talk about how we can trade Del Zotto for Kane and Yakupov. Cause that'll ever happen.

People realized our forward group isnt as good as people thought. Torts wasnt the problem here.

What happened with it is that not enough players on the team have the talent to excel in an offensive system. Those that do are easily stopped.

I agree. DZ will never be traded for Kane or Yakupov. I never said that. Try again

Am I the only one who think we had a set-back but otherwise likes what he's seen from the team lately? I have high hopes from the Zucc line. Sure we need some more help with scoring but I think we're on our way and that tonight was just a write-off.

Erat?

So we're officially in "anything will do" mode now?

Dude relax, it's only 25% in to the season.

:sarcasm:

I agree with you that we played worse against Dallas.

Far worse, except Lehtonen isn't 8 feet tall. Also Lundqvist was ridiculous that game. Seriously, if Lundqvist played like he did in that game, I wouldn't be surprised if we were still playing. I can't expect him to play like that every game, but honestly if he had an average Lundqvist game from the last 2 seasons, we might lose 2-0. Shaky goaltending coupled with this team not being able to score on the best chances I've seen them have maybe since 05-06 is a recipe for mediocrity. The Rangers just can't score. They're not this bad. I mean, they don't have top end talent, but they shouldn't be worse than top 20. They're not completely offensively inept they create chance after chance but they can't score. One team I really don't want to see them play is Toronto. We'll probably outshoot them 50-10 and lose 3-0.

Pretty sure Ive been making that argument for years. But I was told it was Renney's fault, then Torts' fault, Ill be told its Vigneault's fault soon enough.

Same old song and dance with this offensively inept team. Take 40 shots, get shutout, leave the mediocre goalie who got the shutout full of confidence when in fact, he didn't do ****.

I wonder when the song on this album finally changes.

It wasn't just the first craptactular goal against.

Add in the Staal misplay leading to a huge break, thanks to crappy ice because hockey is being played in a place where its 75 degrees in late November, and you're down 2-0 before you know what hit you.

If (RangerHank or w/e his name is) you don't like my suggestion how about coming up with a legitimate suggestion instead? Someone that we can get without getting rid of major pieces? Sure you can get Kane if you'd like to give up DZ, top prospects, first round picks etc...or you can get someone more on Erat's level (not necessarily him) for picks or lesser prospects. The point is he, or a player like him, is an upgrade on our 3rd line wing spot which is what we need. Replace a ~30 point player with a ~50 point player (maybe a little less if he's getting less minutes than usual and less PP time of course) and you have an improved roster. You also have additional depth in case of injury. We basically have 5 very solid wingers now in Kreider/Zucc/Callahan/Nash/Hagelin. We need one more. Richards can be one but then we are weak at C and would need to get a top 3 center to take his spot.
