This game had NO redeeming qualities, and I do mean none.

As usual the Kreider line did good, but Bishop protected the goal like it was his King. However, that line has been consistent on opportunities (not goals) so we seem to forget them when they are playing as they usually do. We seem to only compliment them when they score nowadays.

They need goals. Stop. Yeah you want to upgrade your team, but they have a tight cap situation. You can't upgrade every position. Their biggest need is a scorer. So sorry Erat is not what they need right now. You pick your battles.

You realize that before last year he averaged 22 goals/82 games (20/82 if you want to include this/last despite diminished ice time) which is better than every single player on our roster other than Richards/Nash/Callahan?

Do you watch hockey or just bash plays with no reason? Nash had a tremendous game tonight. He had a ton of chances and drew several penalties. Is your criteria of having a good game solely based on scoring a goal? If Nash had one shot several turnovers and scored a goal on a point shot that bounced in off his leg would that be considered a good game?

Its not the Callahan's. He is a good player. They have too many third line forwards. Only legitimate first line forward is Nash. The offensive core on the team is terrible, and they will never win a Cup with that squad. And I'm even questioning the quality of their defensive core with the exception of McDonagh and Staal.

Maybe AV will leave Hagelin on the top line and keep Callahan on the 3rd where he belongs.

The team did play better in the 3rd. Give credit to Bishop, he played pretty good, doesn't hurt that his size covers the whole net.

I never said Erat was a bad hockey player. He makes $4.5 million this year and next. McPhee stated he won't retain salary. He is 32 years old. He is more of the same. We need a true scorer. Erat isn't and has never been that. 22 goal average is not a true scorer. The last time he reach 20+ goals was 2009-2010.
