I just don't see what makes you so 'fairly certain'. I haven't seen it yet
If you don't see it than me explaining it on a message board won't make a difference. To each his own.

Let me ask you this, who would you rather keep when everyone is healthy. Miller or Pyatt? Why??
For third/fourth line minutes?
Pyatt. In a heartbeat. And I super-mega-loathe Pyatt.
However, when everyone is healthy I expect them both to be gone, or Pyatt to be in the press box.
Where does Miller fit in for sufficient developmental purposes when everyone is healthy?
He's not ready for full-time NHL duty.
I disagree with you, but that's ok, I guess we see things differently.
I like Miller, and think he will be a very good 3rd liner with us for years to come. Playing on the third/fourth line, for a non competing cup contender (which we are right now) and getting NHL experience will only benefit him in the long run. I don't see the point of him playing top minutes on top lines in the AHL, only to come to the NHL and be playing on the 3rd/4th lines, with a different role...
IMO I think JT Miller has the potential to become a very similar player to Brandon Dubinsky. I see a lot of similarities in their games.
And that's why +/- as a stat in a vacuum isn't a good thing to do...goal 1 was a bounce over Staal's stick at the O Blue line...goal 2 was a deflection off of Girardi's head...none of the forwards had any responsibility in the goals against.
Miller is so ****ing overrated on this board.
He should be next guy gone when Cally/Nash come back. Keep Mashinter around to sit in the press box.
He's shown flashes, that's it. He hasn't been able to show a single bit of scoring touch at the NHL level though. I feel comparing him to Dubinsky is a little out there right now.
I hope nothing more than to eat crow one day on my Miller bashing, really, but I see more of Boyle in him than Dubinsky.
33 NHL games and he has scored in one of them.
Does he use his size well? Sure he does. Does he appear fearless at the NHL level? You bet. All good things for a young player for sure. I'm just not seeing the finish that makes a career projection to be a 40-50 point guy there yet. I'm not as high on him as others around here.
And I hope this doesn't read as me singling out JT here. Obviously there are a few guys on this roster who aren't holding their own offensively. JT just happens to be one of them. I think he needs way more seasoning at the AHL level.
Were you saying that when he made Subban look foolish the other night? How many guys on this team can pull that off? He's raw but he's going to be very very good long term.
Wow. Boyle. When you see JT Miller, you see a slow, no hands pk specialist who has no vision or toughness? They couldn't be more different. Boyle is strong in the dot; JT is not (yet). Boyle has the experience to get in the shooting lanes and block shots; JT does not. Boyle pretty much sucks at everything else unless you count puck possession that never leads to anything; JT can skate, shoot, pass, hit (with more than a pansie's force), and has great balance.
Talk about horrendous comparisons; this could be worst I've ever seen.
Oh yes, that one play was great. I said he's shown flashes - that was one of them.
But that's totally awesome that you can point to one thing JT Miller did that was great
He also has a two goal game in the NHL, let's go back to that one also! Funny enough, that's the only game he's ever scored in.
Maybe that's what you think.
And again, I certainly hope I'm wrong.
Boyle didn't have a good game last night. 20% CF% at 5-on-5.
That play shows a level of talent that negates any silly comparison to Brian Boyle. During the course of a game he does many things that make him NHL worthy. I brought up that play because that doesn't happen that often to Subban. It may take him time to consistently light the lamp and set up his teammates, but he is clearly an NHL player and on this Ranger team; he is one of the best 12 forwards we have.
No, I'm 100% serious. Unfortunately the line of he, Brassard and Miller had a terrible puck possession game. He did start only 18.8% of his shifts in the offensive zone, but still, 20% is terrible. Is this a joke?

Agree on the PK.Being at the Coliseum, I thought Boyle played a very strong game last night. He was extremely efficient in the penalty kill, had some good chances up the ice, and was an extremely reliable defensive game. Offensively there wasn't a whole bunch, but he played far from a terrible game.
I missed a NHL first though, Zucc was used on the PK.. how did he do ?

Your eyes deceive you.I thought he played a very Brian Boyle game; aside from the terrible numbers in the dot. He was good on the pk; and highly ineffective in all other situations. The game last night was fast and that is not a good environment for his game. His inability to accept any pass not directly on his tape is a major detriment in a fast game where decisions need to be made fast and passes often are a little off target. He played most of the night with Pyatt and Dorsett I believe as they were all on the ice for the two goals against. Not saying it was their fault necessarily but if they had the puck more it would end up in our net less.
+ Ranger fans.
HAHAHAHA cocky Isles fans act like they are the new "it" team in New York and yet on TV it was obvious this is still MSG East.
Easily 60/40 Rangers fans. Love it.
The move to Brooklyn is a factor. They will soon have a good home crowd.
