Just remember the fish rots beginning with the head. The problem with this tema is top management, which starts with Dolan. Everything Cablevision has touched has turned to s***. They have no plan, just jump for big name to quick fix to whatever.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The presence of the NY media leads people in NY to overate many of their players. Good players are superstars. The broadcasters are under orders never to tell the unvarnished truth (except Howie Rose, which is why he was let go).

Knicks aren't winning anything for the same reasons.

I've been watching hockey since 2000. There are two games that standout as the worst I've watched before this season. The five goal lead we blew in Montreal in 2008 and the 10-2 loss vs Dallas in 2009. This season, in only 7 games in, I've watched three of the worst games played by the Rangers in San Jose, Anaheim, and now vs the Devils. Any this season is only 7 games in.

I'm all but turning my back on this road trip which seems like it started 50 years ago - this team needs the MSG crowd behind them for a few games.

That's the only hope I got right now.

So until then, I won't go out to the edge.

Do you really think the MSG crowd will be behind the team, given the performance thus far? I expect some boos and jeering.

Why would I do that if I were the other teams. If I wanted Lundqvist, he's a free agent. Richards is at the end of his career and Dallas is rebuilding. Nash is much older than Kane, often injured and with a terrible contract down the road, the rest of them just stink.

I said it in the summer and I'll say it again. You can trash Torts and his system all you want but he got the most out of the team. What you see now is the defense and Lundqvist exposed. Add in ****** front office management making ****** organizational moves and you have a giant ****burger. I don't care about injuries, play hard for Christ sake. This team gave up mid way into the game. How many times have they given up in the middle of the game already and we're only 7 games in! Maybe this **** season will finally wake Dolan up and fire Sather's ass. And forget our drafting, Gordie Clark is just as overrated as the prospects he helps draft. I can see us getting a top 5 pick and drafting yet another d-man. Total mess, from the top to the bottom

This is a terrific post that highlights all of the things that are wrong with team. It's really a shame that it takes yet another mail in performance for many of us to post about it here. Truthfully, I don't want anymore quick fixes.

That's the problem with a partial rebuild. It was a half ass attempt and now it's showing. We had what four decent years and now we're in trouble again.

But an actual rebuild would take a few years of piss poor hockey to be truly effective and this franchise won't allow that.

From your mouth to gods ears. The Rangers are in a unique situation with the amount of valuable FAs they have. Trade those at the deadline for a killing, be bad this year and next. Add Ekblad, McDavid and everything else we score from the UFA firesale to what we already have and then go from there. Make sure one of the trades involves a prospect goalie.


BTW, Step looks great out there doesn't he? Where are all the people who said that missing training camp wouldn't be a big deal? Come on out you guys and take a bow! Way to go!

The only hope I'm holding onto right now is that we are missing 3 Top Six pieces.

If that defenseman is Ekblad you have to do it.

It's a huge deal. Callahan is the pulse of this team. Without him or compete level drops the levels. The sad thing is we still have guys like Staal and Girardi who should have the same mentality as Callahan.

Outside about 5 guys the rest of our forwards are either playing up a line or in some cases three while a few don't even belong in this league.

All the home currently occupied by the Pyatt's and Powe's of this organization need to be filled with actual NHL talent. Pyatt is fine on the third or fourth, but that's not how he's being utilized because of injuries.

Calling the kids up to play difficult minutes isn't the answer. Believe it out not they're not franchise saying prospects. They would compliment our top six nicely if they were ready and had competent NHL vets to play alongside.

The good news is a shutout at the hands of New Jersey likely spurs management to make a move.

Scotty Bowman couldn't win with this lineup.

So much this. I'm actually pretty embarrassed by the way Girardi and Staal have played. Very pedestrian performances from them so far this year, to put it nicely. Lundqvist needs to have a Roy like meltdown to wake this team up.
