Something needs to happen. People can say "small sample size" or "It's just the start of the season" all they want. We need to bring in someone who can score because these are all games we should/could be winning. These points matter at the end of the season and we're just pissing them away with this trash roster.

For the love of God blow it up and build a modern NHL team already. Enough with trying to get by. Build a young, dominant, offensively focused team. I want a complete rebuild.

This team badly needs to trade for a goalscoring winger. That lineup was a joke.

You mean like Rick Nash? How many times do they need to trade assets for a goal-scoring winger?

They need to stop sucking and plugging in roster spots with borderline NHLers and tweeners who can't play the top or bottom six effectively.

Honestly man, you can look for the silver lining or hope this is just a bad stretch of hockey, but let's be real here; this team is ****ing garbage.

The roster sucks, key players are injured, and outside of one game, Henrik looks like he is new to the NHL. This is going to be a long season and if they even sniff a wildcard spot, I'll be shocked.

I just think it is irrational to use these first seven games to speak for the remaining 75. It certainly would not be the first time in recent memory this team has started slowly.

You guys are closer to the team than I am here in Arizona, so I don't know what the potential of the system is. I also think they would obviously be much better when the injured players are back. But I do know that right now this does not look like anything but a lottery team with zero chance.

It's a shame, because there are a lot of weak teams in the East this year - Sabres, Crapitals, Devils, Panthers, Flyers, just to name a few. Doesn't look like we'll take advantage of it.

We're one of them.

Trade for Thomas Vanek. As long as it's not McD or Stepan I don't care who goes. Just do it Sather. Please.

Honestly, if they want Stepan, I'd pull the trigger. Stepan has his head too far up his kulo, and still has yet to show up come playoffs.

Vanek can score 40 goals in a season and the guy will put up points come playoff time.

After Thursdays game I couldn't wait for tonight...that was boring as ****.

agreed, P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C effort tonight, I was hopeful they would adjust and come out in the 2nd flying, but the lines were not adjusted as I thought they were going to be.

I am SO irritated at AV and the coaching staff, they had to have seen that Fast with Richards and Bassard looked good at the end of the first, why can't you put them together to start the 2nd. Pyatt was horrendous on the 1st line.

Puck possession. Basically more plays, more scoring. If we were as good as we were the past few years defensively, (and goal tending) this would be a great team. In theory apparently.

Give the Devils their first win of the season. Check!

Give Cory his first shutty as a Devil. Check!

Ladies and gents...

Hey, hockey's different here.

The only hope I'm holding onto right now is that we are missing 3 Top Six pieces.

That's about it.

With all these coaches, could it be a case of too many cooks spoil a broth?

This whole idea of line adjustment makes me laugh.
As if that is why things went as they did tonight.

It's bad when this board isn't even getting pissed off, we are all apathetic. The Sharks and Ducks game make this game seem like it was close.

Normally I would completely agree, but this team has shown NOTHING. It lacks skill, it lacks identity, and a good portion of the roster is borderline NHL worthy.

This is the worst roster in recent memory.

I sadly agree with this post. :(

Line construction doesn't matter much with this roster right now and most of the forwards playing like garbage/not producing. Shuffling the lines is like rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I said it in the summer and I'll say it again. You can trash Torts and his system all you want but he got the most out of the team. What you see now is the defense and Lundqvist exposed. Add in ****** front office management making ****** organizational moves and you have a giant ****burger. I don't care about injuries, play hard for Christ sake. This team gave up mid way into the game. How many times have they given up in the middle of the game already and we're only 7 games in! Maybe this **** season will finally wake Dolan up and fire Sather's ass. And forget our drafting, Gordie Clark is just as overrated as the prospects he helps draft. I can see us getting a top 5 pick and drafting yet another d-man. Total mess, from the top to the bottom

I'm all but turning my back on this road trip which seems like it started 50 years ago - this team needs the MSG crowd behind them for a few games.

That's the only hope I got right now.

So until then, I won't go out to the edge.
